Been trying to get this to come up in the Ranked Team Arena Playlist but I haven’t been able to seem to get this to appear very much if at all. Been only getting Slayer, CTF, and Oddball most of the time, is anyone else having trouble getting this to appear?
Most you can do is keep playing, try not to dodge maps and gametypes in ranked though as it can be very difficult to load someone in to compensate for someone leaving in the pre-game lobby.
I don’t usually have this problem myself. But it might be also because after the match ends, I don’t go back to the menu and then select the playlist again. I just sit and wait for the next match to start. I have no idea if this works though or not but this is how I play and I get into Stronghold matches pretty frequently.
I’ve sat there after I have finished a match but Stronghold hardly has come up for me.

Best you can do is keep trying. If you really want strongholds, it seems to come up frequently in the BTB playlist.
Actually the reason I asked is since I am a new player to Halo 5 Guardians (too late in this generation playing the game for multiplayer, I know), been trying to get that Strongholds Achievement which requires 5 games completed on this gametype. Got 3 out of 5 done but its kind of pathetic if CTF and Oddball comes up way more often (and there is an achievement for CTF as well, which I got very easily). But the only playlist this counts toward the achievement is Team Arena is why I posted this here. I did try BTB a number of times, got Strongholds a number of times on there but that did not count towards the achievement when completing matches. Probably because its a featured playlist and not built originally into Halo 5? 343 should rebalance the playlist so Strongholds comes up a bit more often. A couple days ago, it took me like 2-3 hours to finally get a Stronghold match, was playing it non-stop during the whole period! In my opinion, Slayer should not be in this playlist, there is already a playlist for this right above it if you want to play it. Team Arena should be an objective playlist only based on whats there. Sorry if these comments seem late to the game lifecycle but just wanted to point it out.
I need Stronghold wins.
For some reason I got all the other stronghold commendations quick, but I solo queue and find the other players on my teams tend to steer clear of objectives and slay, hence maybe a 50% win percentage.
In my experience, I’ll get it maybe 1 or 2 out of every 10 team arena games.
It’s also in BTB (I think), Core play when it’s around, and ranked hardcore super fiesta.
