Stronger Pistol, Bleed-Through, No Bloom Return!

I believe this is solid evidence that a powerful pistol returns (at the 0:40 to 0:44 mark):

Also further reinforced is that shield bleed-through is returning.

EDIT: This gameplay video confirms that bleed-through returns, the pistol is stronger, AND there is no bloom.

-Bleed-through at 3:26
-No Bloom at 4:19

-Yoink!-, missed that.

Also, the plasma rifle appears to be significantly stronger.

Either that or the guy was weak and the grenade made him very weak too, however, I saw no blood from the spartan.

@ the guy who said the Plasma Rifle was more powerful, it’s like that normally, it was a local game for everything would be doing better damage other than online were packets can drop and plasma shots won’t register.

I do hope to see a stronger plasma rifle, however.

Looks to me like he got hit by a grenade and then pistol’d.

I thought this at first but I saw no blood coming from the spartan.

How in the world do you think that is solid evidence? It was clearly only one pistol shot to the head. That means the guy had no shields from the grenades that were thrown. If it wasn’t the grenades, one shot wouldn’t have killed him.

The Spartan still had his shields on. Observe the yellow spirals on his body.

Cheese-man, I recommend you take a better look at the situation. Either the death is an implication of the shield bleed-through system or both it and increased pistol damage. The grenade didn’t take out his shields completely - it only weakened them. As I have said, the shields would have popped if they were completely down.

In the current system, that head shot would have not killed, and in this demonstration, it has. There is also further evidence that shield bleed-through is returning.

Solid proof of what? he just got an headshot after throwing some grenades, happens all the time in Reach

> Solid proof of what? he just got an headshot after throwing some grenades, happens all the time in Reach

Notice how his shields didn’t pop, it’s either solid evidence of a tweaked pistol OR it’s solid evidence that shield bleedthrough is back.

exactly this

Exactly not. At the point when he headshotted the enemy, the enemy still had a little shields left illustated by the yellow bands around his body. This clearly is shield bleedthrough, and possibly a more powerful pistol.

“Return of the powerful Pistol”?

What, the Pistol wasn’t strong enough in Reach? It already ruins people’s days, it didn’t need to get any more powerful.

In this Beaver Creek trailer, two full shields opponents enter battle. The red spartan shoots the blue spartan twice with the pistol, then finishes him with a pummel. This clearly shows melee bleedthrough, since the blue spartan had some shields when meleed. Also, it possibly showcases a more powerful pistol, since in Reach, if you shoot an opponent twice with the pistol, they still have half shields, and I highly doubt, even with melee bleedthrough, that a pistol melee will kill an opponent with half shields. So the shields must have been low (well below half), therefore the pistol must be stronger.

Also, in this video (found by Mad Ogamons), a player kills an opponent with one headshot when the opponent had low shields (after watching the video over and over, in slow mo, I can confirm that the spartan did have shields left at the time of the headshot). So this shows that the pistol has bleedthrough ability.

Add these two finds together, and you can speculate that two shots from the pistol will bring an opponent’s shields to a low amount, and one headshot from the pistol will kill an opponent with low shields, and there you have a 3sk pistol. This last part involves a bit of guesswork, but it definitely could be true.

Finally, I found this post on the MLG forums, which contains hints from valid sources that the CE pistol will be returning.

The first one is some proof I suppose but the second one as proved could just be the Spartan is weak.

Completely serious.

Face it people, the CE Pistol was an over-powered Hand Cannon that negate much of the point of the other weapons in the game. You’re not getting it back, except perhaps in the Classic playlist.

The Pistol’s 5SHK right now is more than enough to completely annihilate most close range weapons, defend yourself at moderate range, and annoy people at long range.
