Tell me how someone like Dr.Disrespect gets his own custom shader despite being one of the most vocal people about how he thinks Halo is garbage. Continually says it won’t survive without a BR mode. Says our zone games are broken and basically dogwaters our beloved game.
DGMW Halo can do wrong, especially in 343i’s hand; BUT WHY in the Forerunner.Unsc.Covenant.Kalamity is someone like HIM able to get custom colors but we don’t. AND THE FACT that it’s black and red ONLY goes to show HIS lack of color creativity. Wasn’t coating designed to IDK… STOP THAT VERY THING.
Pretty sure it was just fan art. They’re likely to fix the color system anyways because of the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding coatings’ current state.
Pretty sure the Dr Disrespect shader was just him trying to beg to 343 to put him into the game like he has done for past games (Fortnite, PUBG, Rogue Company). But they better not give him what he wants after him bashing the game for not having Battle Royale since thats the only type of game that he can thrive off of.
I’m not really sure what the story is, but the fact that you have an obvious disdain for this steamer and are still paying attention to their activities should tell you something.
No, no I’m not and neither is a good chunk of the community. If someone like him as able to have his own pallets whilst standard players aren’t. It’s wrong.
Friend you may view colors as some simple thing but colors have been there since Day 1. It’s not right. It’s not fair, and the outcry should be heard.
And if it didn’t matter why is it the endgame in so many games? Why is it boasting rights about how decked out you are. We humans love to peacock. Clans love to have shared colors. It unifies us. It’s excludes us. And above all it helps personify us. Armor is one thing and another fight but basic colors, shouldn’t be paywalled, and nor should streamers have any exclusive rights to a game.
Ninja and his whole faction of FortTards have ruined that in gaming.
Awesome skins and kicks -Yoink!- visuals are for the best players who complete the hardest challenges and that’s the way it should be
I could care less for him. But when it shows up in my phone news about what he thinks about Halo (catagorized as Halo news) and on Twitter (I’ve removed the parties that have shared him) it’s hard not to see it. I’m not someone who seeks disdain in my life, it’s stupid and childish.
However to ignore something pertaining to a very touchy subject of something I enjoy… I’d be a fool not to pay attention.
From what I understand he’s just bandwagoning. He talk about how it should be more like the games he plays. That it has little value outside old gamers and won’t survive without BR mode. If it’s the other case and can be proved to me I will happily delete the thread and eat my words. I’m not so blinded by disdain I can’t admit I’m wrong
Fair enough, I see them too, I just keep scrolling.
Streamers are an important part of the marketing campaign. Getting their hundreds off thousands of followers to get their eyes on the game will bring more people to at least try the game, it is free after all. Giving them a few perks, like custom colors, is fine with me if it gets them to stream the game and talk about it.
Color customization used to be a feature of Halo and now it’s been monetized and comodified in the worst way possible, there is genuinely nothing wrong with hating how things are right now.
I dunno dude, he has this eagerness in his voice when he’s trying to get his streamer buddies to play ranked when they’re thinking skit CoD. I genuinely think her really likes playing it. He even plays it past when his fireteam buddies finish playing.
He started his whole gaming career as a Halo pro, don’t forget
Color customization used to be a feature of Halo and now it’s been monetized and comodified in the worst way possible
Jesus Christ I am so tired of the insane hyperbole. This is far from being monetized in the “worst way possible.”
First of all, you start out with a handful of basic colors like in previous halo games. On day one my friends and I all switched our colors to approximate what our favorite colors were back on the original XBL. No money spent. So when I hear this repeated whining about “color customization used to be a feature…” I just don’t care. It’s still a feature. You can still color your spartan armor. You get some for free, you can unlock some through gameplay, or you can buy some especially pretty ones.
Second, this seems pretty standard for F2P monetization and nothing here is that outrageous. The cores basically act as characters and the colors/armor pieces essentially act as character skins in virtually every other online game.
there is genuinely nothing wrong with hating how things are right now.
This is absolutely correct. If you don’t like how a feature of the game works, complain about it on the forums. Get enough people to agree with you? Hey, it may change for the better. I also think there’s room for improvement with the current color offerings.
But the hyperbole is annoying and whiny, and I’ll gladly make fun of random yahoos who post things like “OMG a streamer got a custom color? this is a huge F U to the community.” It’s dumb and cringey.
Is it official or the one he leaked himself?
The spartan in his picture has hair coming out the back of the helmet.
Untill officially stated, I’d take what he says with a big bag of road salt.
A lot of what he’s said has caused some commotion in the community, this could just be a clever ruse to stir the community pot again.
