Strategy to save halo from delay

Dear 343,

So, I took business or something and this is my idea…

Halo infinite is obviously a monster… Open world, MP, and all the tech stuff (graphics, backwards compatible, and all the goodies)

I don’t want you to scrap items… I do not think any one does but this is starting to look like a year delay and ppl are demanding more and more things as the delay continues…,

It’s bad, by next year, open world 4k won’t even be enough. Ppl will want a 24 person campaign, more than likely #notagoodidea

If I were Phil Spencer…

I would piecemeal items in order from complete to needs work and issue an incentive program to both appease fans and recoop costs…

For example, with a pre-order you get a halo pass… And you can get like little shooting range to start working on aim and little excerpts from the campaign or whatever… Like just one item a month…

You could even get vip editions of the game with t-shirts or whatever or max-infinite edition of the Xbox series x and the more you spend on coatings, drinks and other merch you boost your halo pass status… And your priority in the beta.

It’s just a thought but I figured I’d throw it out there… Way I see it, you already got to fire the coating guy… Why not just build up to profit with a mega launch and give bread crumbs along the way, 343.

I think 343 is making the right call by releasing the game when it’s ready. Piecemealing out the game as it comes available isn’t as neat and tidy as you may think. Different parts of the game will build off of and improve each other. If a game of Halo’s magnitude is getting delayed, then it’s safe to say the wonks at Microsoft and 343 have come to a likely tenuous agreement to delay the game until it is fully ready for launch.

I don’t presume to know the inside scoop, but I wouldn’t be surprised to discover that 343 pushed for the delay while Microsoft pushed for the release. But then 343 pulled out their trump card that a delayed game will eventually be good while a rushed game will likely always be bad. They have several examples and financial projections to back up that assertion. Not the least of which would be Shigeru Miyamoto, who said pretty much exactly that.

From the average fan perspective, it seems that at least enough were pushing for a delay after the game play demo anyway. Infinite was about to release alongside COD Cold War, Assassins Creed Valhalla, and Cyberpunk 2077. We’ve got a pretty bloated market on our hands this season, so a delay doesn’t seem to me to be a bad business decision in the long run.
