I leave this up to the community to decide
From Halo CE-Halo 3 Multiplayer has been more about Strategy.
Prime example. Strategy on Midship in Halo 2/3 was get P3. top mid, and Car 3 control to lock down the map and destroy the other team.
The Pit key strategy: for non MLG map, Off spawn get rocket control, camo, sniper, and overshield. Now map control comes usually you want someone in sword with sniper someone training and someone near Br 2/ Long hall.
Even BTB had strategy
My argument is strategy better then having guns, abilities handed to you?
Now in Halo 4 you get active camo off of spawn if you so desire, after a few kills you get your choice of weapons/power up via ordnance.
Map control to me seems nowhere on default maps. Now settler has map control, shutout has maps control, and some other forge maps do too.
Now I will give 343 some credit they have brought back weapon timing spawns. The weapons finally actually respawn after a certain amount of time, but i feel as if ordnance drops need to be tuned to lessen the power weapons that can be attained from them.
no they need to add the guardians to ordnance drops as a powerup option which gives you the ability to instakill a player from the enemy team of your choice it needs to be a 5% chance of getting it too so it is not op like the assassinations
Having guns and abilities handed to players definitely throws a wrench into the strategies that play out on each map.
The only map that i could think of off the top of my head where you can really use and abuse map control is longbow.

…Wut?

I believe he was being sarcastic.
Map control was far more intimidating. And I liked it!
To get killed by a power weapon in H4 is so shameful. Most of the time, I’d rather not pick up a power weapon (also, deload timer is ridiculous).
