Strategy for REQ packs

So I see people keep talking about buying silver, then going to gold, then back to bronze, or something like that. Can someone explain what this does and why I shouldn’t always buy gold packs.

Doing the silver, gold, then bronze is the most economical way to spend your REQ points. If you only buy golds, then you will be spending more REQ points to finish your collection.

To elaborate on the above. Silver has a set of unlocks that can unlock anything from common-Rare. Gold can unlock anything from common-Mythic. So if you get gold unlocks (which also cost twice as many points) before you’ve unlocked all the stuff you can get in silvers then you’re spending more points than you needed to. You’ll know you’re done with silvers when you started getting points back from getting one. The same is true for gold. Bronzes can only unlock ‘common items’, but they are not a guaranteed unlock and the only thing exclusive to them are some of the mongoose variant so a lot of people recommend saving them for last.

Silver-gold-bronze has you spending the least req points (and thus investing the least time) in getting everything. I personally recommend you hold off on opening any platinums you get till after you’re done with silver as well.

Definitely agree about not opening platinums until you finish silver. I finished my silvers just before the last HCS and I felt like I got way more legendary and mythic items then I would have otherwise with my plats.

Ok, thanks for the help everyone!

To add a couple numbers to what has been said above, I think doing the Silver-Gold method requires a total of 3 million points. However, doing all Gold requires 4.5 million.
