I just pre-ordered the Limited Edition, and man, the pricing on Halo 4 is just plain weird. The main game is priced at a whopping 70 Euro, which amounts to about 88 [US price is 59 dollar]. The LE however, is priced at 80, which is a neat 100 dollars.
So, a 12 dollar difference for the Limited Edition. Wee bit odd, non?
The 70 euro comes out to what the basic would be in the us after sales tax, I dunno what to tell you about the LE, but they seem to mirror the us prices.

Where are you from?
Because those are indeed the weirdest prices I’ve seen in a long time.
I’m from the Netherlands and prices here are just 1-1 copies of the dollar prices, but in Euros (except for ODST which we got for 40 euros opposed to 60 dollars).
So all Halo 4 ads I’ve seen here are for the regular 60 euro pricing. And I’d expect the LE to be 100 euros here.

I am, in fact, Dutch as well. =p
I ordered at Bol.com, seeing as Nedgame or Gamemania were neither capable of placing a pre-order for me. And yes, usually prices are much better than this. For some reason, the bare Halo 4 is just really-really expensive. It can’t be taxes; if so the Limited Edition would cost more too.

I’m Italian and I just pre-ordered the basic edition of Halo 4, when the possibility to pre-order the LE I’ll upgrade my order from gamestop.
But here it costs about 80 Euros. So what’s strange? I think it’s only the European price, consider also taxes.
Reachs normal version(60 euro) and the Limited Edition(80 euro) was similiar.
I don’t care about the pricing, as long as it is payable. I don’t even know if I’m buying Halo 4, I have to see E3 first and I have to know if Halo 4’s international versions will be in the original language. I really don’t want a bad synchroed german version. It was awfull in all previous Halo games, even in Halo Wars.

Well, what I have heard, Italy is generally a very expensive country, so that might be one thing. What comes to the pricing of seventy euros, it has at least been a standard for new games here in Finland for quite some time. The reason for the high pricing (here), I believe, is the value-added tax that for games is a 23% addition to the original price, which makes the original price around 56 euros. I don’t know if any other European countries have a similar system. But regardless of do other European countries have value-added taxes, the reason for the price is most certainly taxes.
It depends on wich store. Here in the Netherlands I found one with the SE for €70,- and the LE for €80,- too. But at another store the SE is €50,- and the LE will be on it in a few days.

You’re welcome.
Coolblue is awesome, they have a lot of shops like consoleshop.nl. No extra costs and often the lowest price.

I see we got quite a few Dutchmen on this thread haha.
But you’re saying Gamemania doesn’t take pre orders (for the LE?) yet? Because they do have it on their website…I’ll check that out in their Groningen store this week then.
But if this is true, that LE looks really appealing. I mean: just 80 euros! 3 mappacks alone would be about 25-30 euros in total, and we get that for just 10-15 euros more than the standard edition price.
