Strange lights on Halo ring in Tidal Skybox

While checking out the new skyboxes on the new Tidal Forge map in Halo 5, I noticed two things.
A. the default skybox is on a Halo ring.
B. There are some strange lights on a single part of the ring.

What are these lights? Why do they exist ONLY on this one tiny section of the ring? The rest of the ring is completely clear, but yet this part has these hundreds of little lights. At first glance I would think it’s a city, but that wouldn’t exist on a Halo ring… any thoughts on this? I can’t help but feel this IS significant in some way.

Is it perhaps glassed? Is this Installation 05, and the lights are the remnant fires of the glassing beams the Elites used to stop the flood from Halo 2? I mean… zooming in with a sniper scope DOES show there are even lines, lines we typically see during glassing…

Is it lava?

What the hell? Tidal is supposed to be set on a moon, not a Halo ring.

Most likely UNSC research facilities. Lights like that existed on Installation 03 and we know there was a UNSC presence there.

Forerunner or UNSC buildings weve seen them a few times before.

Correct, it is probably a small glitch I suppose.

Honestly, if you look at the left side of the lights they’re in a perfect line more or less - they don’t fill the rest of the ring’s shape out. It could be damaged or a part was ejected by the local Monitor. It looks as though a section of the ring is missing.

They’re definitely not building lights. It does look like it’s either lava or some kind of damage done to the surface. Due to the straight lines I’d go with the latter.

Well…that seems like a very quick time for them to set up such extensive facilities, based on the number and extent of the lights… I still have a hard time believing Humans can just go set up shop on any Halo ring they wish, now. Aren’t they worried Flood are there and will assimilate them all? Humanity is getting a bit to OP, IMO. Don’t know who would wish to work or live on a Halo ring…

The rest of the skyboxes are set on a moon, but the default one is a Halo.

They aren’t perfect lights though. Zooming in with a sniper rifle shows that there are many perfect lines of light that zig-zag in random directions. It looks more like lava flow or something. Maybe we’ll get a lava-type of Forge canvas in the future?

I’ll try to get a screenshot later.

Not a glitch. The Halo ring can be visibly, and perfectly clearly seen on other parts of the skybox.

It’s been years by the time the Chief takes a gander at 03 so it’s not all too surprising that the presence on the ring is that large. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a larger presence of UNSC related buildings and gear on the Ark in Halo Wars 2 for the same reasons since they’ve set up shop there since 2553 The UNSC has a knack for dropping in prefab structures. Combine that with knowledge of the Flood and they’re full well able to traverse a Halo without danger from that particular problem. Tinkering with new Forerunner tech all willy nilly on the otherhand…well…lol

You would think tinkering with Forerunner stuff on the ring would attract the attention of sentinels.

Anyway, it doesn’t look like lights. Zooming in with a sniper shows the lights are in zig-zag lines, like some sort of cracked lava flow.

Most likely, but at the same time since humanity is aware of their status as reclaimers they’re probably taking advantage of sentinels and monitors not shooting them on sight by default by approaching things with confidence. The only issues thus far that arose was when humans show hostility or accidentally dismiss themselves from their status by demonstrating they don’t know what to do as in the case in Ghosts of Onyx. But now with the Warden wanting to be openly hostile…who knows at this point.

Sorta looks like a damaged part of the ring or lava either way its strange
