So I watched the new campaign gameplay from IGN (which looks amazing btw) and I couldn’t help but notice:
Did Cortana look… weird to anyone else?
It’s like her face was HIGHLY detailed but her entire torso and arms lacked detail. I don’t think she looked bad by any means she just looked odd in my opinion.
I saw someone on YouTube mention that 343 might be doing it on purpose so she looks less “naked” to keep the ‘T’ rating on the game, which could be possible I guess.
What did everyone else think? Did she look a little odd to anyone else or is it just me? Should they have kept a previous Cortana design (Halo 4, 2 Anniversary, etc.)?
Yes Cortana is a one of many girls in video game that were attack till someone like Microsoft or Sony would give in to there demands. The sad thing is those they change it for don’t buy ore support there games.
Think, Knightinggale96! Think! If they make her look like her Halo 4 model, it will only encourage the R34 artists! What will they have if they can’t maintain a T rating?!
What are you even on about? Cortana and the Weapon both look like supermodels in practically skin-tight suits. Just because they don’t look naked doesn’t mean they aren’t still made to be visually attractive. This is the dumbest take. Yall need to touch some grass.
Good point. I don’t know if it’s still her all I noticed was that her 3D model lacked a lot of detail especially when compared to her face… the lack of detail actually kind of made her face stick out on her character model.
Dr. Halsey herself didn’t even look too good in that scene honestly. There’s a point where she steps back and her eyes get really dark when compared to the rest of her face. Mint Blitz joked around and said she looked like she was possessed in his recent video.
Halo Infinite Cortana clearly uses a different face model and likeness from her Halo 4 version. Which is a shame because Halo 4 Cortana was the best by far
Agreed. Her Halo 4 and Halo 2 Anniversary designs are my favorites. The only “one up” that I can give to the H4 design over the H2A design, which makes me like it better, is that the H4 version of Cortana that we see in the gameplay is actually reeeaally close to how we see her in the cutscenes.
H2A Cortana on the other hand is, unsurprisingly, completely different going from cutscenes to gameplay.
LoL we get it you don’t like adult women. Most of the post on 343 old forms that had the same argument as you were going on and on how the weapon was so cute and she was like a little 8 year old girl… so do I call the FBI before or after I touch some grass?
Her body isn’t undetailed, she’s just obviously wearing a body suit, compared to earlier games where it was less obvious that she was wearing a body suit. To me, this is a clear indication that she was never intended to be seen as naked. Further evidence:
the collar visible in Halo 2A cutscenes
the ESRB never factored her into the rating at all in any game (no “Partial Nudity” descriptor, not even “Suggestive Themes”) and the detailed description of Halo 4 on the ESRB’s website never once mentions her
obvious lack of anatomy that would be there if she were naked
a Halo lead directly stating that she’s not naked
The way Cortana looks in Halo Infinite, at least in that cutscene that was shown, is actually my favorite look for her.
You might be right. She might just be wearing a bodysuit now. However, I don’t agree that she was never meant to be seen as naked.
Frank O’Connor, himself, has actually said that she is naked. He explains that the reason why she’s like that is because she’s an AI that was made in an illegal fashion and she chose that body because it supposedly demands attention and respect from the people that see her.
Actually, he didn’t say she’s naked, he said the opposite. Look up the article titled “Cortana is Not Naked, Says Halo 5 Director O’Connor” on GameRant. That article has the quote you’ve heard of, that doesn’t actually say she’s naked.
Here’s a direct quote from O’Connor that you can find in that article:
She’s not actually nude because she has neither clothes nor private parts. She’s effectively just wearing kind of a holographic body stocking; that’s the conceit.

Honestly, I have zero idea how what I said led to that accusation. It’s pretty disgusting that I can’t critique their obvious strawman of “women are under attack” without having something like that hurled at me.
Like everyone else says, I’ve been playing since 01… I’ve always felt like the naked AI thing was kinda weird shit. “I’m mad because blue computer lady isn’t naked” is a pretty bad take buddy.

As I said a lot of the forms on the old 343 had grown men get all excited that the weapon was like a little girl and as it went on it got worse. Most if not all of the guys defining that post were making same argument no rush was.

I’ve never seen anyone say TW looks 8 and frankly she really really doesn’t so I don’t know what you’re going on about. You need to grow up and realize that accusing someone of something like that is seriously not okay unless you are 100% sure.
