I noticed these brometheans too, I thought it was the Battle Wagon ones. I killed two on that level. I tried assassinating one of them and it just instantly died.

I also tried assassinating them. The first one i encountered was inside the structure running against a wall. I attempted the assassination but failed as it turned around. Since it had an incinerator, it didnt use it against me to kill me, but also didnt use the explosion ability like the normal Brommanders. i had to punch it like 15 times for it to die. With the second one i was able to assassinate him, and this was the moment when i realized i had seen something wrong about these knights.

Except Johnson was too awesome to be found using explosives.
It’s always been precision weapons, particularly the sniper rifle.

I’m thinking of hopping back on to get a better look at the Bromethean, see if he does anything else peculiar. After I took the pictures, it took us some time to kill him, even though we were hosing him down with all of our ammo.

I have an interesting theory, maybe the Brodact is… assuming direct Brontrol.

The first Bromethean spawns on Legendary as part of the second wave of the Defend objective, one of the 3 Knights (the others are a regular Knight and a Binary Rifle wielding Lancer) that will chase you instead of sticking around the Defend objective. You may want to have a sword with you to take out those 2…
I’ve assassinated him. He was nothing special in combat performance. Figured out his little jump (he does it when you approach but that doesn’t mean he knows you’re there) and exploited it. It’s not unusual for him to not drop an Incineration Cannon when assassinated, I think that’s the case for most Knight Commanders.
Killing the 3 Knights spawns another regular Knight (or was it two?), a Knight Battlewagon, and a second Bromethean. The second Bromethean does not have heightened senses, but he is a real bro (he killed the Battlewagon for me :D). Anyways, I’ve assassinated him as well. Nothing happened.
I’m just going to say it’s a texture glitch until 343i says otherwise.
I wouldn’t put it past them to make us assassinate both of these Brometheans with no deaths in between.
Texture glitch is a possibility.

Its not a texture glitch to me. It has that weird attack and I’ve studied the bromethean brommanders and they don’t do that. The bro also has a weird orange dust trail behind it and other brometheans I’ve seen don’t have one that big. I’ve got 2 to spawn and 1 had a incineration cannon but the other had a binary rifle. This is getting interesting.
Now I know what all this Bro nonsense is about… this whole thread is really racist.
can these “Brometheans” be found on any difficulty or does it have to be on legendary
I took a closer look yesterday and seems to me that they’re just Knight Brommanders with crappy textures/shaders.
I guess this game really is broken.
