Anyone have any advice?..
Proximitty, who’s a very talented player, has a video up on his YouTube about strafes. It’s helpful, but if you wanna use your jump in your strafes (which helps as well) I’d recommend switching to Bumper Jumper if you haven’t. I used to play H4 button layout but the change to Bumper helped me out alot. But hey, you do you man 
Best advice i can give you. Hit your shots, do whatever you want, crouch, strafe, jump, thrust - until you hit your shots, you are good. I see some people do crazy -Yoink- and spam full clip of magnum to kill, thats bad. Focus on hitting your shots. Otherwise you can over strafe and just miss a lot.
dont stand still
Circle strafe is my preference. Also, to hit shots, be sure to never fire the magnum at it’s full fire rate unless you’re sure it’ll be a hit.
Strafe a little, crouch a little, jump a little… mix it up!
