Ok so am i the only one complaining about these guardians? Because man the way 343i is pushing them out just seems lazy and generic. These guardians have no background in the halo universe or legit story. Like the at least the didact had a background with the librarian. But these guys sre just out of thin air. What happen to the potential story with mendicant bias and the flood? That’s what i thought that huge forrunner emerging from the sand in that e3 teaser trailer was. Instead its a guardian? Like come on does no one see the laziness in that? Halo always had an awesome narrative but that just seems so generic. Who cares how big they are. The flood were tiny, but still had there place in the halo universe because they fut just right in the narrative. I realize I’m speaking a little too soon since i havent played the whole campaign yet, but if they’re multiple guardians it looks like this just might be s cheap story in halo 5. Im giessijg a boss fight since they’re all big and powerful looking. Thats so common and generic that its just not halo. But who else agrees? I really did think mendicant bias was going to be in the story since he was buried UNDER A DESERT and looks like A HUGE FORRUNNER AI. But thats just me. The story needs more of a dark halo overtone to it honestly. I’m still hopeful though
How about you wait for the actual game to be released and uncover the story behind these guardians before saying they’re generic and have no place and background?
They’ll very obviously have a background through the campaign, and are connected to some important events to come.
Halo 5 isn’t the last Halo. There are years and years left to shape the story. 343i is building up, but that doesn’t mean they have to use everything in Halo 5.
There’s so much we don’t know about the Forerunners yet, something like Guardians could definitely be plausibly possible within the Halo universe. The Forerunners produced quite some interesting inventions before finally resorting to the Halo Array to subdue the Flood.
I don’t see at as lazy, more of a narrative opportunity to introduce something new. And let’s be honest here, considering the amount of people working on the story I doubt the Guardians are here for ‘just a boss fight’.
Lol honestly after Hunt the Truth the last thing you can claim 343 to be story wise, is lazy. The whole thing was unnecessary and purely for hype and it worked. Not saying it took hard work but it’s still more work they dint have to do.
i am def with these guys^^ wait it outt because we honestly know “a lot” about halo 5 and at the same time know nothing.

Your right, this guy should wait until the game comes out. Then he could say what about what the Guardians are good or not.
I looked this up for you because you were too busy calling 343 lazy to do it yourself.
Bungie created the Guardians a while ago.
Also, you said “Generic” a lot … are there a lot of games with massive ancient alien bird looking constructs flying about? What’s generic about them? Halo itself is a generic space marine sci-fi shooter. Always has been. Borrows heavy from other established sci-fi films and books. That’s just what it is.
What’s lazy is calling peoples’ work “lazy” & “generic” with nothing to back it up other than “am I right, guys?”
Well the covenant had no backstory at all when we played the first game. In fact, we knew nothing. about anyone. All we knew is that somehow, we were playing as a 7 foot super soldier in green armour, who fought aliens on a huge ship that was crashing onto a giant ring. Knowing everything about a game and its villains doesnt necessarily make it better
Man, really? Thank God that most of you seem to think like me. Post threads like this one are terrible for the Halo community. Wait until the game comes out to criticize the lore and the story. Anyway, I am done. I think we have taught this guy that his assessment is petty.
Let’s keep up a positive vibe about Halo 5! Don’t let the trolls get you down about a game they haven’t played!
I never really understood where people thought MB got the giant bird robot form from. He was only depicted a 3-eyed monitor before, and the forerunners would be pretty dumb to entomb him in a giant bird robot.

Yea dude i completely agree, thats why i said i still have hope. And your right the whole hunt the truth and hunt the signal was awesome. But there was no mention of anything familiar, like these guardians just came out of nowhere. Idk IM NOT BEING A PESSIMIST im just worried about the story. I read nothing on these guardians on escalation or new blood, im just hoping they’re tied to mendicant bias, and that would provide an awesome narrative. Something lore fans can appreciate. Come on now don’t say that wouldn’t be awesome. Something new would be awesome don’t get me wrong, but make it make sense you know? Random guardians out of nowhere? Why? The heretics in halo 2 were new but they made sense. AND NO IM NOT A HALO 2 OR BUNGIE FANBOY OR 343 HATER, halo 4 was ok, and i adore H2A. I’m speaking as a loyal fan so dont use any of those cheap shots agaisnt me.

Dude dont he so but hurt. No one had a grasp on giant forunner birds flying around. I didnt call the guardians lazy, i said if a boss fight was based on just the size of an opponenet, that would be lazy. Tberefore using the Guardians in a lazy way. So relax

And when i said generic i meant how many game soo you play where you are supposed to be impressed and devistated by an opponenets huge stature. Thats what i meant, and i hope thats not what happens in halo. It would he like a gravmind boss fight. Lazy and generic, something halo has never done. NOT SAYING IT WILL HAPPEN, but im hoping it doesn’t
Jesus you guys, i said i wass still hopeful. Look the only thing thats bugging me is the guardians thing. I really saw no background or perspective you know? Its out of nowhere, and its just crazy. IM HOPEFUL
Call me crazy, but the background and purpose of the Guardians may actually be explained in the games.
Explain parts of the story while telling the story? These 343i folks sure are goofy!

Dude seriously? Im no troll, ive played halo since CE and im a troll? I fanboyed for 343i when the MCC was broken (which was a mistake). So dont call me a troll when you know nothing about me. Positive vibe? Be real man, just because its halo doesnt mean it doesnt have its flaws. Just because i have criticism doesnt mean im a troll. I want this game to be awesome because i love halo. So dont be so ignorant and discount me because i think the guardians look kind of not cool. People like you ruin the community not me. Im statijg my opinion. Trolls and fanboys ruin a games community and you’re a fanboy. Following 343i anywhere even if its off a cliff. Im not saying 343 is leading
Halo 5 off a clift, just an example

I know that man, im trying to say that the kind of story 343i might be trying to tell from those guardians could have a lame outcome with no real background or good narrative. BUT IM NOT SURE, its just a first impression

Could. Though I’m willing to bet that the outcome turns out great.

And yet I can’t see where you draw that conclusion from, especially them being lazy and generic.
