Story Discussion

I am making this forum so people can share their opinions and thoughts on the Halo Wars 2 story (so far).
-SPOILERS-
So I have been sort of in the Halo lore for quite a while. I’ve read a lot of books (reading New Blood right now), comics, watched the movies, etc. And overall it’s probably my favorite fictional universe of all time. So here is my personal opinion on the campaign and its story. (Note, I am only 3/4 done). It is pretty good. I think there is a disappointing lack of Blur cutscenes, but they are great when they come up. And let’s not mention the amazing return of Halo’s old art style and mixing it with the new one. The narrative is quite new and refreshing, and totally a step in the right direction compared to Halo 5’s story. The character interactions are great (Isabel and Cutter, Red Team has awesome interactions compared to the first Halo Wars, etc.) However one thing I noticed is that the Banished relationships are hinted at, but never touched upon (Atriox and Decimus, Decimus and Shipmaster) This could possibly come later in the DLC, but it was a little disappointing to not see much interaction there. I have no problems with the dialogue. In fact I’ve loved most of the in game dialogue, especially with the Irish Hellbringers. In canon, everything fits fine. The Banished obviously don’t have that big of a galactic presence, seeing as they only have one ship, so it makes since that we haven’t heard of them. Also, seen in Hunters in the Dark, the Ark self repairs, so that’s not a new thing. Having a ready-to-go ring ready also makes quite a bit of sense and something the Forerunners would do, so I don’t feel like anything has been pulled out of the writer’s butts so far. One thing that I liked that was touched upon was Cutter recognizing that their old lives are gone, something I thoght would not be brought up. I also like how it is hinted that Cutter obviously is effected by Serina’s “suicide”. Those are my thoughts so far. What are yours?
