First of all, which is your favorite between the two and what variants do you like? I love both of these weapons but I think the storm rifle is my favorite. The rate at which they strip shields is spectacular and I definitely prefer them over their human and forerunner counterparts for that reason. It just sets me up for the kill or assist extremely quickly compared to the AR/Suppressor.
For me its the brute plasma rifle! I love the way it sounds, and i find it take shield down quicker but you need to quick draw to get the kill which is fine for me.
Storm rifle for me, it has the faster ttk. I usually to noob combo to get a kill with the brute plasma rifle. Once I finish up the commendation for it odds are I will never touch it again.
Oh baby this is close one. I also thoroughly enjoy using both but I’d have to say I’m slightly more effective w/ Storm, barebones wise. Between Teash and and Bliss though I’m going with Teash. Find myself sometimes hurting myself a little too much with Bliss in CQC and Teash’s DPS and improved melee is just stupid good.
The plasma rifle sounds good but I’ll take the storm rifle over the plasma. Plasma overheats too quickly.
Oddly enough I’d take the BPR for the range and accuracy, Storm’s good for when things are a little closer but if you know how to use the PBR well you can take on most things up close. Both heat up pretty fast, storm kills quicker and PBR has better support abilities on the shield
The Brute Plasma Rifle overheats too quickly IMO. You almost need to “perfect” them with the Brute Rifle to get the kill, or lower the TTK and stop shooting halfway through the kill to let the gun cool down a bit. I am beyond excited to finish that commendation, only 9 kills to go. I probably won’t touch the Brute Rifle after i finish the commendation the same way i don’t touch the Storm Rifle either (except Fiesta)

I find the storm rifle has a faster rate of fire and that the brute has a slower rof and overheats faster.
If dual wielding was still in the game, Brute Plasma Rifle. Since it’s not, the Storm Rifle though I think it’s a crap substitute for the classic Plasma Rifle

Agreed. But do this Im not a fan of either, along with their variants, in H5.
Storm Rifle has an insane TTK for an energy weapon. If I’m using it for combat, Storm all the way.
Brute Plasma Rifle if I have a Magnum though. Quick switch speed enables easy headshots.
Aesthetics wise, BPR. The Storm Rifle looks horrendous. Like a rejected Carbine design. It’d part of 343’s policy of “We can’t at all be like Bungie, so all of our weapons have to look different for no particular reason”
they both are very good at close quarters but the storm rifle is better over all for me, falls of against the plasma rifle at range (unless they changed that part of the balancing) but I find myself getting more kills with it so I would say I prefer the storm rifle.
Plasma rifle all the way just wish the blue plasma rifle returned

I prefer the storm rifle. But that might be due to its corresponding req level being slightly lower.
I’ve kinda thought it was odd that the storm rifle and variants were req 1-3 whereas the plasma and variants were 2-4.
Never got used to the Brute rifle. But I tend to use the storm in the first stage of firefight due to its ablity to strip the elites’ shields down.
