This pretty much occurs with almost every loadout weapon in the game, but I though I should bring this one up because the Storm Rifle sounds like crap.
You know sometimes, when you switch weapons, your gun will sometimes play a complete different firing sound effect for about a second after you hit the trigger? Then it switches back to the normal SFX.
But the Storm Rifle, I couldn’t help but notice… when this glitch occurs, the different sound FX sound WAY better than that little pattering sound it usually makes; it sounds more like the old Plasma Rifle, and a lot more intimidating. Anyone think 343i should change the SFX for the Storm Rifle to the bugged one?
I often think the same with the Battle Rifle oddly enough but I don’t see them changing the sound effect at the bugged one. If anything they should be fixing this issue as well as other audio bugs in the game.
I’ve noticed that too and every time it happens I just keep thinking “WHY ISN’T THIS THE NORMAL SOUND?” It feels alien yet deadly and I hope 343 takes a sample of it for future games.
I like the glitched sound of the Storm Rifle. Although I can’t decided if I like it or the actual one better. Probably the actual one since it sounds powerful and fulfilling. The glitched one sounds alien, which is cool, but it also sounds empty.

You can hear the “3rd” person firing sound. It’s the most noticeable with the DMR and the Suppressor.

No, it’s not. The 3rd Person firing sound for the Storm Rifle is completely different than the one that plays when this glitch occurs.
All of the other loadout weapons; the AR, BR, DMR, Suppressor, Light Rifle, etc. play the 3rd person firing sound when the glitch occurs.
> Are you sure the audio is actually glitched? It sounds intentional.
I thought that, too. The audio isn’t meant to change like that when your start firing; that is definitely a glitch.
But the bugged audio for the Storm Rifle sounds like it’s supposed to be the proper audio for the gun. That wimpy little pattering sound it normally makes sounds like something I’d expect to hear in a beta. Could be a bug unique to the Storm Rifle.
I’d much rather they use the bugged audio; as I said, the normal firing sound for the Storm Rifle sucks. I wonder if they could fix it in a future patch…
I always thought that the 3rd person firing sound of the storm rifle sounded kinda like the spiker from halo 3/reach when the plasma is whizzing past your head. Just IMO.
