I know it doesn’t have one, which it should be red but the purple is -Yoink!- anyway, someone said it would soon have its own skin.

Just curious if thats true

Yes. The Storm Rifle skin will be included in the upcoming Mcfarlane toy DLC.

Yes, through the MacFarlane DLC.

Finally the DMR gets a skin that isn’t fugly. Though I won’t be buying the DLC myself since I’m already happy with my arctic BR and there’s no new BR skin.

Meh, just give the toy to a poor kid. Win/win for both of you. You get your weapon skin, he gets an early Christmas.
