Storm Faction Leadership

Something occurred to me when looking at the Storm faction. We have them, and the Storm Rifle. The Storm Rifle is made by Lodam Armory. The Lodam Armory is part of the State of Lodam. One notable member of that family is Thel 'Lodamee, notable for his duel with John in The Package.

I wonder if the Lodam clan is one of the hierarch’s of the Storm faction. And if so, will we get a rematch between John and the other Thel? Would be interesting, considering their collective past and the devs wanting to expand on John’s character.

343I did mention that some characters from Halo:books and other canon will/might appear in Halo 4. SO if Thel’ Lodamee is part of the Storm faction. I guess John-117 will finally have a rematch, or maybe 343I can develop even further and make this Thel become Chief’s counterpart/rival throughout the reclaimer trilogy.

That would be really cool to see a rematch between John and Lodam.

Good find!

The manufacturing of weapons isn’t enough to speculate not to mention they said the covenant was more of a war up type deal and they wouldn’t be the main focus.

That’s actually a great find when you think about it. They had said the Master Chief was getting a real Nemesis in this series so what if Thel 'Lodamee is the Chief’s Nemesis? He did fight and kill Sheila-065 and then bested the Chief in a dual which means he is in fact a dangerous threat to Spartans.

Exactly. Chief fought many covies and had his fair share of battles. But against Thel, hello! this is THE MAJOR, The Elite who challenged chief to a sword fight, he even won before being pulled away.

So when you think about it, Why would 343I/Bungie even bother to create an Elite who Chief failed to win against?

the awnser: to create Chief’s Nemesis

This would be very cool, I always wanted to see that fight finished.

> This would be very cool, I always wanted to see that fight finished.

lol, Chief: Let’s finish this fight.

You have to admit though, it’s quite an interesting coincidence.

Epic

Halsey was also there to witness the fight and it would appear she is also in Halo 4 so there could always be that “Do you think you can take him this time?” kind of dialog from Halsey.

i just have a few words on this great thread.i always wondeard if they would met again

scenario: Thel vs Chief round 2.

Chief escorts halsey towards a Forerunner structure, Just then Chief senses a disturbance. Cheif gtabs his assault rifle, only to be knocked down, weaponless.

Thel Deactivates his cloaking. Pulling out his energy sword.

Halsey: Chief! is that!?!

Chief: Impossible.

Cortana: who is he?

Chief: Someone who I trained hard to beat.

Thel tosses chief another Energy sword. John cathces the sword in mid-air and activates it.

Thel: We meet again Demon, this time I will have your head.

Halsey: Do you think you can take him this time?

Chief: Yeah. Let’s finish this fight…

Good catch. I thought that that elite in the package was thel vadamee

The reunion could be a sort of a samurai showdown. Imagine a one on one fight with energy blades. I can almost see it as the Tartarus boss-fight, but without the cheap overshield protecting him.

I don’t know how sword dynamics work in Halo 4, but if there is some sort of defense mechanics for us to use, we could have ourselves something akin to Showdown at Ichijoji Temple.

Or even better, John versus Thel and a bunch of other sword wielding Elites in a Zatoichi style showdown.

Would make for an interesting gameplay change.

Eh, I don’t think I can see 'Lodam being a true “nemesis”. It would be cool to see him again and in a big role in the Storm Covenant, but true “nemesis”? I’m not sold on that.

I don’t know, unless the Didact is his Nemesis or they create a new character entirely he does at least seem to be a good candidate. He appeared in Legends under 343i’s watch and was mentioned again in the Definitive Edition of The Fall of Reach. He has killed a Spartan and nearly killed the Master Chief himself all while being a simple Major. Imagine what else has happened in the 13 years after he fight with the Chief.

I don’t know if he’d be the nemesis of the Trilogy, but if he is in Halo 4, I would see him fulfilling the role the Tartarus played in Halo 2; the nemesis of the game.

That said, Lodam has a pretty good resume for being a nemesis throughout the reclaimer Trilogy. And if in Halo 4 he does some other messed up stuff like hurt Halsey or kill Spartans it might make the fight personal to John as well.

So, I doubt it, but you never know.

I just hope there is an Elite character which is actually a character with a voice. I would hate if they were just canon fodder with the sole purpose to give us something to shoot until we meet Prometheans. Having this group of Elites actually have a leader who the Chief meets would be a lot better IMO.

Nice Find!! It would be a bit of a disappointment if there wasnt some sort of referance to this.

That’s a pretty good proposition. It’s good to see some continuity.
