What is the difference in the storm grunt and normal grunts? As of now I am assuming that the storms are the faction of the covenant that split from the pack after halo 3. Again, this is my assumption, but I am interested in knowing the facts so if anyone has info on this subject please drop a reply. Clearly, “storm” is important in the story because we now have the storm rifle. Thanks guys.

Nothing really. The Storm Grunt just seems to be a new official name, for what was unofficially known as a Grunt Minor.
I like that they are separating the names of Elite and Grunt ranks.
well since 343 have said there is a story reason why these grunts look more reptilian im assuming that the storm grunts may be the cousins of the normal grunts, like jackals and skirmishers.

I’m just going to take a simplistic theory and say that Storm Grunts are Grunts that use Storm Rifles.
It would kill me if they had a “Storm Grunt” final grunt. Just imagin one with long blonde hair and a grav hammer. Make up for the lack of one in Reach and ODST
