Storm and Covenant

Question… Do the UNSC know that they are fighting the Storm faction yet, or do they still think that they are fighting the covenant.
The only reason I ask is that the characters, especially palmer, always refer to them as covenant. Is that because they don’t know yet that they are a splinter group and the covys have just kicked off again, or are they just stuck in their ways in calling them covenant.

any idea?

I think its a force of habit. Or 343 doesn’t want to explain that its the Storm.

shame  i enjoyed fighting along side with the elites

The UNSC have known for a few years that they are fighting a terrorist splinter group or as we now refer to them the STORM COVENANT. Many UNSC personnel refer to them as Covenant because in essence they are; this collective still hold the Forerunners to be their Gods and they find Humanity to be a desecration in the galaxy that must be completely destroyed. The STORM COVENANT are the ones we fight in Halo 4 but back in the Elite homeworld there are many more splinter groups all with their own agenda; the STORM is the UNSC’s immediate threat but not it’s only one.

I think they do know that they are fighting the Storm, but it’s way easier to say “We’re fighting Covenant” then “We’re fighting Storm”. The UNSC still has contact with the Arbiter, and the truce is still essentially in place. Essentially.

Well it certainly took cortana by surprise :stuck_out_tongue:
I wonder whether we will see the (official) sanghelios again…

Also does anyone know where we are at with the insurrectionists? As I know they went quiet during the Human - Covenant war but with their own agenda, they may have kicked off again or are they contempt with where they’re are at?

It’s simpler to call them that.

Insurrectionists are up to their old tricks.

some are lead by the parent(s) of the spartan II’s

interesting, was that in one of the books?

Oh. I honestly didn’t know there was a difference.

They are probably extinct after the war. But i really dunno. UI don’t think we are going to see them again.

I don’t think they’ve ever been called the Storm Covenant. The only thing in the game that has anything to do with the word “Storm” is the Storm Rifle.

Yeah, that bothered me a bit. Someone who just plays the game will think that we’re just at war with the Elites again.

It was explained in Glasslands and Thursday War

Basically, the Spartan IIs parents got angry when the flash clone died and were told it was bad genes in the family. The parents knew they didn’t have bad genes and they knew it was the UNSC doing something. So they disappeared from the UNSC and became Insurrectionists.

Master chief may have to fight his parents!
