I’m not really a fan of the microtransactions in Infinite. I like a lot of the items in the store, but the content can still be a bit pricy. I’m not suggesting that the entire system has to go, but maybe it could be further improved.
I’ve noticed that a lot of the packs in the store include emblems and nameplates. These emblems and nameplates really aren’t interesting to me, and a lot of the people I play with don’t care for them, either.
As an example, the Mystic Marlin bundle was released to the store this week. This bundle contains an armor effect, an armor coating, three emblems, and a nameplate, all for $8. This isn’t a bundle that I would ever pay $8 for; the content isn’t worth the price. So, what if the armor effect and the armor color were sold as a bundle for a significantly lower price, and the emblems and nameplate were sold as another separate bundle, for their own reduced price?
This would break the store down into more tiles, but the store isn’t overly crowded or difficult to navigate as it is, so I don’t think that would be an issue. I do think that nameplates and emblems should be sold as their own bundles, and armors, visors, and colors should also be sold as their own bundles. This way, the price would be split between these items, and players would have more control of what they bought without paying a higher price for a bulk set, which may contain a lot of unwanted content.
I suppose there is some business strategy involved there, by trying to charge a higher price for more content, but in this case, the content generally doesn’t justify the price. I think that people would be more willing to spend some extra money on the game if the items were further separated, and they had more control over what they were purchasing, for lower prices.
