Store still not good enough, sorry

Yep, and earned credit systems just do a really good job of masking how bad it is.

Which is why I like the current system so much. Its plain as day to all consumers. Don’t like the price point? Argue about it until it changes (if enough people do this).

But as soon as a earned credit system enters the picture? You instantly get the hand wave of approval. Instead of us complaining about prices, suddenly you have mountains of people coming to the defense of the systems because “Hey you can earn the credits, so it really isn’t that bad. Pay $10 a season, earn $10, and then do your ultimate challenge every week to earn 100c a week… and you will have a pile in no time!”.

No thanks. I’d rather just try and get the prices to drop more and not have some silly reward system built into the pricing and profitability.

I really can’t understand all the crying!

‘I can’t have stuff for free :sob:

Grow up!

And why wouldn’t it? They are going to have to make money somehow, most people would rather just pay than grind. It would be no different than now, other than the people who don’t want to pay that much or don’t want to pay at all have a chance at getting stuff

That is literally what I am suggesting, if you had even bothered to read my post

Try better baits

Is that not the essence of what you said. Unsurprisingly the store is still awful.

apparently 50% price cut doesn’t look like they’ve changed

Didn’t look like 50%. I’m still seeing 10$ colors.

Lmao… you replied to ME silly…

The context of my reply was in response to AgentMaryland93 comparing it to a game like Warframe… I said in my OP that you replied to me about that I would be ok with some sort of BP reward…

So while I agree with some of that, it’s absolutely out of context… (not to mention your post was made an hour after the one I was replying too…]

I mean at least it makes more sense. You replied to me… as if I was criticizing your post that is completely external to my reply. So goofy.

Well, I think with prices even lower, people will buy more. There is hope of making this fair for the players and profitable for 343 imo

They said they would start implementing changes, starting today. Of course its not good enough, they’re well aware of that. The price reduction was most likely the most feasible change ahead of the reset.

The problem with that is the whole concept of buying skins or even individual pieces is something a lot of people didn’t see coming to Halo. Buying things like this will never feel like a good experience even if you do buy them to me and a lot of other people. Microtransactions as a whole is not something I couls ever defend in any compacity. I will say that if they put something I like I will buy it. Aside from that would be purchase, the entire store needs to be rehauled at the very least. There esspically needs to be more ways to show off your skins. Feels to bare atm.

I completely agree. I had a bad feeling as soon as they announced it would be free to play. Gotta make the best of it though. Drop those prices 343!

I think this was just the start to the store changes, I mean I’m not gonna complain about $10 and $12 bundles when they were twice that last week.
I do believe this isn’t the final update to the shop though.

I can’t say I’d call Warframe ‘unpopular’, that’s kind of subjective really. I could just as easily say that Path of Exile is unpopular because I’ve only ever even heard one person talk about it and that’s my one friend who wanted to 100% it.

I mean, if that’s your experience, then I can’t change your mind on that. Personally I have been playing Warframe since 2013 and I have yet to spend a dime on the game save for where I wanted to and I really didn’t have to. Still don’t, I just did because I wanted to because I wanted a glyph, armor, Voidrig Skin, and Extractors. You absolutely can play Warframe without opening your wallet and still get everything you want. It might not happen in a day, but you can still do it.

I can’t say I’m 100% happy with Warframe’s monetization, but really the only thing you’re getting wallet blocked from is Prime Armor, Prime Extractors, Prime Noggles, Prime Syandana’s, and Prime Glyphs, all of which you don’t need to progress the game, they’re just nice to look at.

You do realize that they just did right? It was only with fierce backlash that the weekly bundles that usually cost 2000 CRs now cost half the price. Feedback and criticism can work, but only if people push for these changes over a prolonged period of time with lots of visibility. Now they need to make even more changes to the store if they want people to actually buy in. Since 343 seems to struggle with coming up with original ideas on their own, here are some simple things they can do.

Here’s a general layout of what I have in mind.

1 Weekly shop item worth 1000 CRs: Full Armor Set
1 Weekly shop item worth 750 CRs: At least 6 visors, two for each core
1 Weekly shop item worth 750 CRs: A camo for all Vehicles/Weapons

1 Daily shop item worth 500 CRs: AI colors
1 Daily shop item worth 500 CRs: Emblems

Admittedly, I’m not exactly super creative, so this example may not appeal to everyone but it’s something consider. They can also do things like allow us to earn credits in game through various extra challenges, or tying in credits to challenges in the Campaign.

The point is criticism and feedback works. Saying things like “How will they make money if you can just play for everything for free” or “The store won’t change for the better” is stupid. 343 is at its core still a business and people know that. People are not asking for everything to be free, but what they do want is for things to be reasonably priced and valued. 343 did not deliver on that idea at launch and have only just taken the first step to making things right after the fierce backlash.

Saying things like “things won’t get better” is probably the worst thing to say since that means you’re giving up. People want this game to succeed and I suspect they recognize that despite Halo Infinite’s current flaws, it is still in a number of ways better than what Halo 5 gave us.

So don’t just say “How will they make money” or “Things won’t get better.” Offer feedback, raise awareness of the issues, let them figure out how to make the monetization more accessible.

I’ll admit that I don’t know too much about Warframe… but is it even 1/10th as popular as Infinite is? I mean in terms of playerbase?

Its an extremely convoluted version of Diablo basically, it does offer QoL and cosmetic stuff in its store.

Again, my point is that obviously games with far fewer players (far fewer customers to put it another way) are going to be more giving to their audiences than a massive game like Infinite or Warzone etc.

38k were playing in the last 30 minutes, the 24 hour peak is 62k (had to recheck because my memory is sometimes the worst) on Steam, and it’s on just about every platform, so I’d say it’s popular enough.

On that I can’t really argue, more players (‘customers’) means more pay, unless you get super lucky and all of the few people who play your game are big spenders.

As for Path of Exile, that’s more or less how my one friend explained it honestly.

I just find it funny, I’ve heard more about Warframe the last few months than I have since it released lol.

Warframe was routinely trashed shortly after release (I don’t even remember how long ago that was) and it seemed to me like tons of people just forgot about it. F2P games are infamous for coming out with a lackluster offering then becoming amazing years later. I just hope Infinite gets good a little sooner.

The problem with Warframe is that for the longest time they focused too much on getting quick content out there, resulting in short, scuffed quests you could complete in like 30 minutes and then you had to wait almost a year for something other than another Prime. So I won’t say it’s a perfect game, it’s far from, but they’re hopefully learning from their mistakes.

Yeah this is the main thing. The currency earned is a trickle, then players get impatient, and then buy the primo currency to make up the difference. Then there’ll prolly ve some currency left over, and the cycle will begin anew. That’s how the slow trickle of currency is a trick.

If I want cosmetic items, I’d like to just either earn them or buy them. Don’t sprinkle credits my way and tell me that I’m gonna be able to buy what I want in no time. This is especially the case when there’s a rotating store that incentivizes you to buy before things go away and you don’t know when they’re coming back.

As well, earning those small shreds of credits per day/week/etc. would start to make Infinite feel more like a job, which they said that they don’t want it to feel like. Yeah, I’d say they screwed that up at launch, with the slow XP gain, but adding a “Earn credits in game! You’ll get that stuff in no time!” now would just make it worse.
