Store Shows Owned - Do I still need a code?

So I just recently purchased HW2 Ultimate pre order directly off of my Xbox. I realize that people are waiting for codes/tokens to redeem - which I would imagine would then show that HW DE is owned by the user.

Even though I know there is a 7-10 day waiting period/waiting for next wave time frame, I checked the store on my Win 10 computer. When searching for Halo Wars Definitive Edition, I notice that it says “You Own This Product” - but there is no download link.

I would have thought that the code I was waiting for would then show HW DE as being owned by me after redeeming. Does the code that I need to wait for actually enable the download link or is there something else going on since the Windows Store knows that I already own this product.

I apologize if this is a repeat question, but after trying to research the answer here in the forums, I did not notice anyone specifying if the store had shown that they owned the product while waiting for their codes…

Thanks for the help!

You already own the “Add-On”. this should be the file on which the system detects that you have to get a code in the next days. (it’s currently a part of hw2 and another file than the real game file)
It’s a simple safety “precaution”, so that almost nobody pre-orders the game only to download hwde and cancel instanly the hw2 pre-order.
This gives people time to think about their “fakey” pre-order, and some 4free-grabbers give up because they can’t get it instantly - have you seen these 1-star-store-reviews, because they can’t get hwde instantly?

Thanks for the info. I did read the 1 star reviews, but I was under the assumption that Halo Wars Definitive Edition would not be shown as being owned by me until I had redeemed a code that I needed to wait for. That was the cause for the confusion.
