I made a topic not too long ago attempting to find the actual estimated prices of all the items in every bundle, by comparing them to other bundles. These are the determined values, so if 343 starts selling items individually, expect similar prices, hopefully lower. It’s possible that these individual price estimates may not change at all, but being sold in bundles may be cheaper to buy the full bundle than to buy them individually.
Theres way and way to monetize on something, don’t pretend that was theyre only choice. 1st none asked them to go free to play 2nd the store was fine if there was also an option for “free users” to customize theyre character, thats why all peoples are upset, theres no alternative at the shop and its even overpriced;mafia basically. 3rd campaign is not free.
You know, the gaming community learned how to justify theyre developers like they bounded by something,in fact swallowing everything they trow, this will not make things better, but WORSE. BECAUSE IT’S NOT THAT THEY WILL STOP AFTER AWHILE SINCE THEY GOT ENOUGH MONEY, its the opposite.
Can’t believe you defending a freaking armor set sold for 20 bucks. I can buy entire games for 20 bucks.
Even 10.
People aren’t getting it. Even if the prices change you still need to buy the in-game currency in the same denominations currently still available.
It’s non-refundable money. They get the same money whether you spend it or the leftover from your purchase rots in your game balance.
I understand that, but just because they’ll get the same money regardless of what someone buys, it doesn’t mean the customer gets the same value for their money. Maybe I’m happy giving 343 $20 for cosmetics, but I’m not happy giving it to them if all I get is one ai. An exchange goes two ways.
I get you. I might even get something today if they do a good job.
Just throwing it out there incase people were thinking they’d be going on today and getting that nice new helmet for just €2. Not realising there is a minimum purchase.
I think a lot of people on here are being a little too optimistic. Yeah they said they were lowering prices, but I wouldn’t expect the $20 bundles for example to all of a sudden drop to $5 or even $10. I’d love it if that was the case, but at the absolute most I’m predicting a 25% cut. So maybe a $20 bundle drops to $15, but I think more realistically that would be dropped to like $17. I’d guess they’ll incrementally drop it over time and weigh each drop with the reaction it gets on here/Reddit/social media and obviously sales figures from it.
They also mentioned adding more to bundles and selling items individuals. Don’t know if all that plus price drop is happening tomorrow, but eventually. And long term they are looking into ways for players to earn credits. Honestly, the selling items individually is the biggest draw for me. For example, I love the Heart Charm. Hands down my favorite item in the game. But I’m not gonna buy a $15 bundle for it. Now if that $15 bundle were $12 and one item of it sold for $2-3 I probably would buy the charm and save $12-13 over buying it now.
Dude looking at these prices it looks like we got price reductions of AT LEAST 50%. Bundles have dropped 50% AND include more items now. What do you think?
I’m blown away that the VFX set was reduced by 50%. I was expecting it to be 1500, not 1000. I was absolutely 100% wrong.
I was so stoked when I logged in. Instant purchase both the 1200 and the 1000 bundles. There’s so much stuff in there! I’d have had to pay 60 bucks before to get all those coatings, cosmetics, etc. I paid 20 and got all of it. And tbh I’m never going to change any of my coatings now. Those fx and neon superfly coatings are going to be permanently rocked for me lol
Same here. I’m looking forward to the rest of the week to see what the upcoming dailies look like. If there’s going to be additional cyber-themed cosmetics that are around the same price points, I’ll probably snag those too.
Me personally. I wouldn’t pay more than $5 for any in game transaction. Expecting me to pay more than an hour of time in wages at a job for a digital item is highway robbery.
People are actually spending the cost of 2 meals for an FX and a single Armor Coating. I wonder if anyone is buying that emblem for $5
I mean you can put an emoji after something stupid and it doesn’t make it funny. Here watch me do it:
"People actually spend the cost of 10 meals for the campaign which is literally only ones and zeroes in binary
"
Text does a poor job at conveying emotion. Just cause I find it funny doesn’t mean you do.
And, besides, the campaign is more like 6 meals. Buying lunch these days cost about $10.
Yes, but you do get that there are differences between buying a little, buying something, buying a lot and buying everything? I also bought things from the store! But I know I would have bought a lot more if the prices didn’t give me the feeling of getting screwed over. And so do a lot of people. Hence, the outcome of the polls.
I agree that cat ears, pineapple grenades and armor effects and things along those lines are “very specific made for people interested in it”. But that isn’t the case for things from previous Halo titles like selling Hazop, CQC, JFO and ODST for Mark VII in 20 dollar bundles. That is just insane. You can’t sell those for 20 dollars especially not because they were free a decade ago AND 343 didn’t even designed the armor.
Why not? Can you only claim you’re really, really, really interested in it if want to put an insane amount of money down? I don’t think so. I’m really, really, really interested in buying an Xbox Series X. But if some scalper comes along and offers me one for 1000 dollars, I am NOT going to buy it! You will maybe claim that I’m for that reason not really interested in it, but I don’t agree. I know the value of an Xbox Series X, I don’t want to overpay for one even though I’m interested in it. I know 10 dollars is not an insane amount of money, but it IS an insane amount of money for digital cat ears. Especially if you’re not interested in the rest of the bundle.
Where did I claim I don’t care how the items look? I wanted to buy these items, because I thought they were insanely cool. I can give you a list of all the things I wanted to buy because I thought they looked great, but that is a long list and I don’t want to bore you. But I didn’t buy them because I either thought the price was 2 times and in some cases 4 times too high, or I was only interested in one or two items from the bundle.
If I go to a store and see a nice looking shirt for 30 dollars and I go to the cashier and he/she says “oh, sorry. We made a mistake. This shirt isn’t 30 dollars, it’s 300 dollars.” Well, I’m not going to buy it! You maybe want to claim that for me not buying the shirt I didn’t think the shirt looked cool to begin with, but I don’t agree.
I don’t know where you pulled those numbers from, but let’s say you’re right. Who the f**k cares about percentages? It’s about the total amount of $$$.
Let me give you an extreme example: I’m going to sell cartons of milk. I have a 1000 cartons and for some odd reason I decide to sell a carton of milk for 50 dollars. A lot of customers come in the store, but nobody buys them because they all think they’re too expensive. Then a very thirsty millionaire comes in and doesn’t care about the price and buys a carton of milk for 50 dollars.
I can then claim: “I’m not going to lower the prices of my milk! 100% of all my customers are millionaires, so I keep them at 50 dollars!” What kind of moron (business wise) would I be?
So even if 90% of all store purchases in Halo Infinite are made by whales, WHO CARES? If 343 and Microsoft now earn 1 million dollars a year from the store, but by lowering the prices they can earn 10 million dollars a year from the store, but the percentage of purchases that are made by whales goes down to 5%, WHO CARES? And I’m obviously right, because the store now cut their prices in half.
You get my point right?: Extremely expensive versus Extremely cheap. Yes, I know you cannot purchase anything for 10 credits at this moment. But if microsoft and/or 343 want items in the store for 10 credits it will happen within a month. If microsoft and/or 343 want us to buy the exact amount of credits we want from the credit shop, it will happen within a month.
Alright, I never played gears 5, so I don’t know how that store works. So I will not comment on that. But holy crap to you admitting you’re a “greed is good” kinda guy. Good luck.
