The single biggest mistake anyone can ever do is listen to free advertisement.
Taking the word from people that get paid to do this is naive.
People I know are more honest about a game than any company/streamer. Nowadays, and 343 actions so far that speaks a hell of a lot louder than their words is a huge red flag.
I’m going to wait for a while and see what actually takes place and go from there. I’m tired of company’s making promises, but their actions show different.
I have products in beta. We have beta portals for clients. We update those beta portals, because it’s a beta which means changes can be made quicker and without a long-winded release term process.
This is for gaming though, because as a software engineer who works on proof of concepts and demos the way Betas have been treated in gaming is vastly different from other programs. Halo Reachs Beta, Destiny Beta, Division Beta, For Honor Beta, every Beta has never had a fix. They took the feedback…and applied it to launch. But we are already paying for stuff for gods sake in a beta. The Flights felt like Betas moreso than the actual Beta!
Every prior halo title had Free MP with the ability to customize your spartan. The system became more complex even up to Halo 5. They gutted the customization and monetized every aspect of it. It’s a regression in the system and it wasn’t built with a consumer first approach. They didn’t care about whether or not we would like it. Just who would buy into it unfortunately. We don’t get the full experience here like we did in prior titles. If you want that you have to pay for it. There are ways to create a system that works for everyone, and I made a post about it. However, 343i may never see it, and if they do they may decide to ignore it. Still, I believe that option was the most suitable as everyone would have been satisfied.
Having to buy something to play MP is the exact opposite of “free”, and every other Halo game has required a full purchase for its MP. Infinite does not. Yes, Infinite has limited the customization suite in their 100% free to play game, and those who are unable to play every aspect of this 100% free to play game because they can’t change their primary and secondary color independently and grind a 6-12 armors will be disappointed. Those who play Halo because it’s Halo will be able to do so, once again, 100% for free.
This implies you want everything in the shop, once you find that armor set you love, I doubt you’re gonna feel obligated in any way to buy more cosmetics. I can almost guarantee you, you will not want anything in half of those bundles anyway. Which, reminder, don’t impact your gameplay in any way. This isn’t Halo 5’s weapon req system which even then only belonged to one mode. I will agree that Halo 5 had a better system with at least awarding req points for gameplay. But honestly… all this really boils down to is to just be patient. IIRC 343 IS working on tweaking BP progress and I’m sure they’ll eventually rework the store or offer some challenges that maybe offer some store points or something.
If spending money on in-game cosmetics is so bothersome to you, maybe…get a job or something to buy them? Idk, there’s definitely more to playing games than complaining about this exact topic for the 16th time today.
Yeah, the famous “4 items” that are the same, in a normal situation, you would have 1 item that can be applied everywhere, but they show you “4 items” like you get different things lmao.
Sure, people want to keep the same armor forever, like we wouldn’t want to change it from times to times
For real. Yall making a big deal about armor when you cant even see it. Just a gun and a left forearm is all you see for 99% of the experience. The other 1% is covered in a red glow and it isnt even yours. It belongs to someone else.
