Store Bundle Info *A MUST READ*

Look we don’t know for sure about this. I saw earlier tonight from a reputable leaker about another 120 tier battlepass dubbed “the operation” because of season 1 being extended so let’s wait and see. We just don’t know right now. That being said if it is right then I’m not wasting another penny on this game. I understand that it’s free to play and I am happy to buy the battle pass But I shouldn’t have to spend over 1000 dollars to unlock all content in season 1.

Yes and it took that ONE to get on board with it. Yet here we are …going backwards…instead of forward. Keep in mind those past Halo’s, we COULD PICK OUR OWN COLOR. Something as basic as that, as “limited” as it was ,was more than what we can do in this Beta. So again, spare me the excuses. And 343 is backed by Microsoft…cost is not an issue for them.

Since Halo CE we were able to chose colors, then Halo 2 has 2 colors, Halo 3 introduced armor parts, Reach pushed the customization even more. Halo 4 was kinda the same and I didn’t played 5.
Now years later, we find ourselves with less options than in previous games. The only way to customize your player is to pay, the free BP tiers gives us almost only challenge swaps, they could’ve put armor parts here but no, you only get swaps for challenges that are annoying on purpose. With this system, we will never have that kinda of customization again, except if you pay hundreds, and you won’t have all the content.

Nobody here wanted to have this kind of monetization in Infinite, we didn’t choose for the game to be F2P, they chose because it’s easier for them to push Mtx, they know that this will earn them more money with less work. It’s not about “development costs”. It’s about attracting a new, larger audience who is ready to spend much more money than with a pay to play game.

They wouldn’t go out of business if they had chosen a pay to play model. They’ll still have money, but less. (except if this game tanks, I don’t want to, but it could happen)

No it’s not. Where’s the bundles then?

Yeah, sure it’s annoying, but there could be more free stuff when the game actually comes out.

I’m not sure how accurate this is but the rumor is: Microsoft blew 500 million to make Halo Infinite, if that’s true than it is the most expensive video game ever made.

And if the figures are even remotely close to 500mil, you can bet your bottom that Microsoft/343 is coming for their money and nothing else.

And thats great…cause right now…with the way current Multiplayer…not seeing where that money went to…

I hope the campaign to be ginormous if the game costed that much to make, the multiplayer doesn’t looks like it’s worth 500m. Maybe the engine tho?

I won’t comment on ‘leaks’ and ‘data-mined’ content that isn’t out yet.

But I will say this.

Bundles like Vigilant Sniper which has 6 items sounds nice. But then you realise 4 of those are the same jpeg, just split up into Emblems for vehicles, weapons, Spartans, and your nameplate.
Not to mention the weapon coating is only for the sniper. At least the stance is cross-core…
All for the same price as an entire Battle Pass.

Very cheeky.

It’s interesting then that they separated single and multi player. Because I might not buy single player because multiplayer is free.

Yeah some folks just don’t get how much money actually goes into the development of making a AAA game these days from a big studio. From the research to the advertisement to keeping the lights on, this isn’t 1997 anymore. The first year I was out raged because I paid 54.99 for new video game when they were only 49.99 ever since I could remember. Then it happened again a few years later I found myself paying 59.99 where it’s been ever siince for nearly 20 years!!

Like you said. I’d pay 100 bucks with all the bells a whistles. These kids would freak out if they ever had to buy a NeoGeo game back int the nineties!!

Yeah, but games now are mostly digital, microtransactions doesn’t cost them anything once they made the assets because it’s not physical.
Software has evolved too, the games more “complex” to make but the tools they use are better than what they had in the 90’s.
They’re working for one of the biggest company in the world, so I don’t think they have trouble with money,
and I don’t think that a great part of that money is going to the devs.

But that’s not my business, after all we are the customer and we should pay things that are worth it.

Before you paid for you game and you got the content, now you pay for a fraction of a part of the content.

I get that more games are digital instead of being printed to a disc but because that game is digital there is cost to maintaining that game. Servers, physical storage of Servers, ie the building there are in, and many locations, o top of that you have the personal to maintain them, personal to secure them, electricity…lots and lots of that!

Plus you have the live team, community team, online team, help/trouble shoot team.

Then you have all the people who take that info and apply updates, big fixes, and so on.

All that is very expensive cost that didn’t exist in gaming 25 years ago. Back then You slapped it on a disc and called it job well done, and moved on to the sequel. If it was broken well, your studio shut down or you were known for making -Yoink!- games and didn’t sell to well anymore.

Yeah I get that, but then if they want to sell those MTXs, they better price them accordingly.
I don’t think they need to have these aggressive practices to keep them afloat.
Those prices are ridiculous, they don’t need to sell 1 coating that is limited to 1 armor core and few parts, for the price of 20 bucks.

And it’s not like it was their only revenue source too.
And why Forza Horizon 5 which has a fixed price, with much more content and especially licensed cars, is more fair with how much content we get?
Forza Horizon is made by 1 dev studio (and in part Turn10) that also belongs to Microsoft.
Majority of fans would prefer that for Halo too.

Why would you buy everything in the first place? You cant equip all of it at once.

It’s funny how most of these go from talking bout an issue to arguing on whatever the person said that doesn’t line up with what you said and then it dissolves into just squabbles

There’s like 20 of these threads, please use search.

Also, you don’t go into a department store and go “I’ll have one of everything!” do you?

They were better off having a one-time fee of say $20-$40 that unlocks all Battle Passes and full progression experience, and even unlocks more customization features like a coating editor or emblem editor. And, creating actually cool-looking armor items in addition for half the price

There would be smaller amounts of backlash and many would even support the game for those items, then.

The current model is more of a subscription to actually enjoy the full experience of the game, which is a bad thing.

I have several collections of figurines and statues, so yes you do in a toy store as an adult collector. Pokemon card collectors would agree too.

There are people in the gaming community who would try to unlock everything there is in a game…and now that ability has been killed with fire.n
