Storage Questions

Alright, since I wanna play Halo 5 the moment it comes out, I need to go through install times. However, I dont know if I should go and get a external Hard Drive for my Xbox One. I know a 1TB one isn’t too expensive, but at the same time I don’t wanna spend money on something I won’t need.

So, I have a few questions.

  • Has there been any word about the installation size for the game? - My Xbox One currently has 83.7 % of storage used, with 58 GB left. It’s the standard model. Is this still enough to really install any game on it or should I get more storage? - How much space does DLC cost, averagely? I’m asking because I know there’s gonna be downloadable maps.
  1. confirmed to be around 50 GB
  2. it can fit halo 5 but you might want to get more
  3. idk. But it shouldn’t be that much

Halo 5’s multiplayer map DLC is free, so no need to worry about that.

I’m guessing Halo 5 will be about 40gb, and don’t worry all of the map packs will be completely free for everyone (15 maps)

He was talking about storage space, not price

You can pick up a 2tb external harddrive off of Amazon for less than $100. Then you’d have 2.5tb. A lot more space than just 1 and a lot of money saved by not having to buy another console. Just make sure it’s USB 3.0

Hell, there’s a 5tb external for $120.00 … that’s still cheaper. I got a 1tb external for around $45. I might get a larger one next year. If I get the 5tb, that’ll give me 6.5tb total. That should suffice the entire console generation without any further upgrades.

Apologies to Microsoft, as much as I want to see Xbox One’s being sold, I still like saving people money. No need to buy a second console when there are options not only more affordable, but more beneficial.

What up fam. There’s gotta be atleast one game you never play right? If so you can always delete that to make much space for halo 5 and its dlc you feel me? If not then yeah go buy some more storage.

dont forget about updates those are usually big as well

IMO 1TB is plenty for someone who regularly deletes what he doesn’t need anymore. I only play 1-2 games at a time and delete them afterwards.

I would strongly recommend saving up for a 2 TB hard drive, because the base game alone is going to be quite large around 50Gb and then there will be updates and dlc, so in the long run it will be worth it. I bought a 2TB at the beginning of this year and haven’t regretted it since.
