Spam was never a problem in halo. I never heard in halo 3 players complain that they lost because of spamming from the BR. Spam only is an issue in my opinion with automatic weapons that have too much ammo. The assault rifle has never been overpowered in halo imo. The idea that spam has plagued halo over the lifetime of the series is laughable to me. People are just mad that there are individuals that can shoot fast and still hit there shots. Bloom created the imaginary idea that spam is affecting halo. Shooting quickly and being accurate with the BR, DMR, or pistol is skillful. Making guns shoot slower or adding bloom just kills skill separation. It tries to make everyone have the same time frame between shots. If you want to stop people shooting quickly and hitting every shot increase movement speed. If they spam, they will miss more than likely. Add to skill rather than decreasing it for halo 4.
Spamming is like the unicorn of the halo universe
The logic in this thread is 0. Who cares if someone “spams”? It’s full auto.

are you illiterate?
AR needs a buff. 60 rounds per mag.

The assault rifle is too weak in reach to do much. I honestly think it needs to be stronger. My thread is not focused on the assault rifle. It is primarily about the DMR/BR.
Spam is just… no. Suppression is something to be encouraged as long as the maps are well designed. If you let an enemy secure other lines of sight and they suppress with grenades your last escape route while they flank, then that’s your team’s fault.
I don’t remember “spam” being a problem on Countdown, Zealot, or Sanctuary though. I sure as heck don’t remember it on most maps in Halo 3, aside from Snowbound.
