Stop with the DMR vs BR on the MLG v1

First of all im a DMR user in ALL default playlist and its my favorite gun but lets be real…DMR its insanely overpowered and the weapon with most magnetism, its a semi power weapon and make’s the competitive game boring to watch, with nonsense of strategy…

BR balance the whole settings and make teamwork the most important thing (Like H2/3).

The AA’s on POD are so balance and give a new fresh breath to the game.

We had to support the Ghostayame work he knows what he’s doing to balance the game and make it actually more fun to watch than with the DMR as a initial weapon.

Im a DMR user and i support the DMR as long can be a pick up weapon the DMR (As the semi-power weapon that it is).

You can donwload the settings from the ghostayame fileshare OGhostayame.

The competitive community is already dead, I’m afraid your too late :frowning:

I understand MLG wants to get the settings to be what they deem as balanced, but its not just about them. They are supposed to be an E-sport and thus have spectators and what they play has to be appealing to as many people as possible. They failed at that with Reach, MLG setting were completely different than vanilla and very different than TU settings. They are failing now with H4 and these settings.

They should have allowed for Carbine and LR starts and depending on what happens with the TU maybe the DMR should be a starting weapon. I don’t see the harm in at least allowing players to spawn with Thrusters or Hologram as an AA. As for the maps they need to use Haven, Solace, Abandon, and Adrift. Other maps should be forged remakes of classic maps that people know like Lockout and The Pit. Reach MLG was filled with maps no one played.

They also need to take advantage of in game waypoints as they are the greatest thing to happen to Halo as far as spectating goes. Power weapons should always spawn as World Ordinance with waypoints, make them predictable fine, but don’t have them spawn on the map like normal weapons without waypoints. Some of you complain about objective waypoints and grenade indicators but as I said these are great for spectating.

Bottom line MLG needs to find a balance between what they want in competitive setting and what can be approachable by others.

most of ghostayame`s points were valid on the BR starts.

I find the maps/weapon and power-up placement to be much more debatable to be honest.

you guys can complain all you want but sadly as of right now those settings are unchangeable.

Valient effort if a little late

Besides a big reduction in Aim assist and bullet magnatism (to CE levels)

Making the DMR a 6SK will be the perfect solution to that particular problem
The DMR currently packs a mag with 2.8 kills in it before reload vs the BR’s @ 2.4, this means the DMR user can miss more and still win the against the BR at all ranges - missing is not punished enough.

DMR also has a faster rate of fire then the BR and since a perfect hit from a BR (all 3 burst fired rounds landing on target) is equal in damage to a single bullet from the DMR the DMR kills faster and is more forgiving to its users mistakes - Making a DMR round less damaging so its a 6sk fits with the weapons profile, increases its kill time slightly - balances the midrange in the BR’s favor, retains the DMR’s advantage at long range (the BR still continues to be fairly useless due to the way the bullets spread) and automatics retain their rightful place in CQC.

The DMR issue is not as difficult to fix as people think and easy for 343 to address if they can be bothered.

Highlight 1: Yes I did.

Highlight 2: No they aren’t. I was watching pros play with MLG v1 settings last night. One loadout that is a BR and no AAs.
If you are talking about my map comments then you are right they are using a lot of maps people recognize. I just mentioned it because that needs to be a point of emphasis for MLG because like I said for Reach they used a lot of maps no one used.

Highlight 3: Some power weapons use waypoints not all of them.

Check the latest gametype Shamona. One loadout with a BR, no secondary, 1 grenade, no AA’s, Resupply, and Explosives. I wonder why they won’t use the LR or Carbine though in loadouts. They’re about equal to the BR overall.
