Stop with pointless DMR/AA threads.

I am so sick of the DMR and AA threads about Halo 4. First of all: THERE WILL BE NO DMR OR AA’S IN HALO 4!
Here are some reasons:

DMR:

  1. The M392 DMR was quickly surpassed in production in nearly every branch in 2548 with the advent of the BR55 Battle Rifle. The DMR was only used on the following planets; New Jerusalem, Tribute, Reach, and eventually, Earth and was not used by Master Chief to battle the covenant on the Halo rings, Earth or the Ark in 2552.

  2. The UNSC frigate “The Pillar of Autumn” did not carry any DMRs when it fled reach with spartan 117 onboard so there was no way he could have access to any DMRs.

  3. During the Halo 4 panel at Halo Fest 343 stated that they are/have been only looking to the main Halo trilogy (Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3) for ideas for the Halo 4 sandbox (weapons & vehicles).

Armour Abilities:

  1. Armour Abilities were only compatable with the Spartan III programme and not Spartan II’s (Master Chief is a Spartan II).

  2. Armour Abilities were prototypes on Reach and since reach was Glassed (well you get the idea).

  3. During the Halo 4 panel at Halo Fest 343 stated that they are/have been only looking to the main Halo trilogy (Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3) for ideas for the Halo 4 sandbox (weapons & vehicles).

I put this in the multiplayer thread because that is where this issue is mostly talked about. Lastly 343 understand (I Hope) that Reach was not as good as the main trilogy and this is why they are not looking to it for ideas.

  1. Weapons appear and disappear in the game as need. If something is added or removed, it for gameplay purposes. For example, what happened to all the H1 Pistols and the AR in Halo 2?

  2. The POA is a cruiser, not a frigate, but anyway. What does the POA have to do with Halo 4?

3.When exactly did they say this? I watched the panels and never heard this.

  1. Wow, so much wrong with this. First, you have Jorge, who was a Spartan II (just like the Chief). Two, in the level “Exodus” you have ODSTs using Jetpacks, an AA. Three, the Covenant are seen using AAs through out Reach. AAs could make a comeback in any form the game designers want.

  2. While its true certain technologies were being developed on Reach, that whole “they were prototypes and destroyed during the glassing” was never really confirmed to be canon. Some of the developers made a joke about that, but it’s likely just a joke.

  3. Again, where did you hear this? I don’t remember it at all.

In the end, Halo has to evolve and move forward to stay the star it is. You can say what you will about whether Reach was a failure or a success, and what part AAs had in either, but to say that Reach wasn’t as good is completely unfounded. A lot of people still play Reach, despite its heavy competition, and that say a lot about the quality of the game and its content.

dude, come on!

there is a difference between posting on forums for the continued renewal and improvement of gameplay & KNOWING THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF HALO SPARTANS

I mean lets get real, you are a nerd if you actually know this crap

Stop telling other people to stop having an opinion. Besides if the developers want the DMR in, then they will MAKE UP a reason why.

Ok you may have me on 1 & 2 but I know that Studio Creative Director Josh Holmes responded to a question by an audience member. The question was “Since we’re coming from Halo 3 as the previous cronilogical game, do we want to look at that sandbox for ideas of weapons and vehicles and stuff or are we thinking the entire trilogy in general? Or series in general including ODST and Reach?” Josh then responded with this “I think you know you’re gunna see things in this game (refering to Halo 4) that are both familiar and new. We look across the entire TRILOGY of games as we look at the past sandbox that has existed and so you will see things that are familiar from past games but also things that are new.” Follow this link if you don’t believe me and skip to 36:05 in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKLPEzpjN90
And that is the proof that they are looking only to the main trilogy. However it may have been a speech error but I believe that he ment the main trilogy(Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3).

No AA’s would be awesome.

I’ve said this before, but if “active camo” and “Over shield” became types of “equipement” that have a certain amount of “feul” or “charges”, then so could “jet pack” and any other type of thing they want. and I’m all for the idea. I think having some control of “power ups” would be great, like wether you really want to use them yet or not. if you have it as equipement, you can activate it as the need arises. maybe turning it on and off to conserve feul would be OP, but I still like having the option.

above posters are also right, Covanant used AA’s, so did Jorge and ODST’s, they game will have whatever the game designers want it too, and if it’s done in a way that compliments the games core gameplay mechanics, I’m 110% supportive of new and innovative ideas that could make the game feel more immersive and less like a reskin.

I’ve been saying this for months. Well maybe like two.

I am so sick of people making threads about being so sick of the DMR and AA threads about Halo

You’re just perpetuating the repetitiveness.

I hope there is no DMR!!!

I hope neither make it back. 343i needs to come up with something new.
