I don’t get it.
People are always whining about weapon being OP. Truth is, everyone has their own play style, and that play style has weak points. When someone else’s style deafeats their own, the become highly defensive, thus calling the other person a noob, or complaining about the weapons. All weapons and armour abilities can be countered with different strategies.
I have my own weak points. My play style is easily defeated by Assault Rifles, Needlers, and Jetpacks. I get annoyed when I am defeated by them, but that’s just how it is. Besides, for every 1 person who plays the opposite way you do, there are many others. For example, at least 4 people in every BTB game I play use my ‘vice’ weapons. However, I am still positive over 6,000.
If we could all just quit this barbaric bickering and just play the game how it’s supposed to be played, we might find it a lot more fun. I know I did.
Yes there are actually some counters to the boltshot. one of my freinds made a vid about it.
you see him running and guy pops out of this corner with the bolt shot all charged up and then boom my friend pulls a hardlight shield and the shot reflects off the shield and kills the attacker. I laughed so hard.
Precisely. there are many ways to counter each weapon, but people are too stagnant and stubborn to learn or use them.
Sigh.
It’s called making objective statements. Why would I be calling the Boltshot and DMR OP and asking them to be balanced when I use them every game?
The reason I use them is because they are OP, and it is not that I am getting killed by them or have a “weakness” in my playstyle, it is that I am using them and see their effectiveness.
I can respect that, as I am the same with the RL. However, that is a different case; most people here are whining because they keep getting killed by the same weapon.
Loudouts are the equivalent of rock, paper, scissors.
It comes down to luck when players are around the same skill level.
Arena styled shooters are the onlyones that take real skill, like Quake.
> Loudouts are the equivalent of rock, paper, scissors.
Good point.
Oh boy, not another one of these “Here’s what you can do to avoid and counter it”.
If this is the case we mind as well not play the game right? Why not just avoid everything? I don’t like getting black screened or blown up by grenades or blown up by rockets or getting betrayed by teammates or having afk teammates. Should we just “avoid and counter” them as well and not have the problem actually solved?
On that note, why don’t we just find a counter to every single problem in the game no matter how painfully obvious it is? Real solutions? We need none.

But no starter should be able to one shot kill it is simple as that, the mauler was a one shot kill but a map pick up weapon and the boltshot’s range is farther than that of the mauler. All 343 needs to do is consider reducing the range of the boltshot so it would be equal to the mauler’s range, and buff it’s primary so people will actually use it as a sidearm instead of an ambush or corner camp weapon.

exactly why not make the bolt shot like the plasma pistol and lower its damage instead of being a full charged 1 shot bill why not a 2 shot

I love the Hardlight shield. I’ve actually done the same maneuver, but against a Scorpion, with explosive results.
The DMR is OP, the strongest rifle shouldn’t have such high bullet magnetism making it one of the easiest to land a shot.
The Boltshot is fine, but needs a range nerf. The one-hit kill charge up shot shouldn’t have so much range. I could care less when I go around a corner and get shot. But when I’m a good 5ft away and get killed in one hit with it, thats wrong.

true it could use some tweaking but at least its not as effective at close range.
the range needs to be cut or it needs to have a damage nerf
