OK first off, I have to say in my time of forum surfing the only game forum with more QQ [crying, complaining] than the halo forum [since Reach] is the battle.net wow forum. I mean Jesus Christ lets all just take a breather for a second yes alot of you are upset about the introduction of perks, progression etc.
Rage is not unwarranted but can be less THIS GAME WILL FAIL OMG CALL OF DUTY: HALO 4.
Ok how about we look at the positives ey?
*Graphics - from the snippets of gameplay I saw which was really about 15-20 seconds altogeather [by this I mean the first person view of gameplay, the one with the detail], I’d say they are much improved from Reach and the lightings been improved and personally I love the look of the Spartan IVs in multiplayer, the look more like the sci-fi super soldiers I imagined, that whole Slimelined futuristic feel.
I also loved the new hub, the Dmr’s new design except the scope it didn’t look like it belonged with the rest of the weapon [attachment maybe].
*Gameplay, it looked familiar and Halo 3/Reach esque, what I loved was the pace and the sound of the guns, the graphics combined with guns made it seem more real; they didn’t sound like fake pew pew guns like forgive me here the BR sounded in Halo 3.
Sprint IMO was a plus, some would disagree and I know alot of you would state in essay form why sprint is not needed but IMO, while H3 was better than HReach it was much faster to get into the thick of the storm in Reach than in H3 with sprint, I absolutely hate having to move at the pace of a snail to try and stop the FC after a respawn while Reach was flawed I loved CTF on it more than H3.
Negatives
*Personally I wont judge the game with the limited information we have atm, but according to alot of you AA’s are and will be a killer for the game, first off I’d like to say I dissagree with this[hear me out].
While AA’s were detrimental to Reach in hindsight I believe they wouldn’t have been if Bungie actually implemented them better, theirs was a system of hey lets jam our last game with lots of cool things nvm the balance and removing the Ranked/Social system was a mistake but I’m not here to speculate I’m here to talk about what we’ve seen.
*Progressive Customization, while alarm bells have rung in your minds and your instant thoughts are 343 is turning Halo into Cod NO!NO!NO!
Stop for a second, sure the old Halo system worked and it was good for its gen but lets stop trying to capture nostalgia of the good old days of H3 custom game madness and so on, instead lets think of the state of gaming now. Halo 3 is five years old, Halo CE a decade in my book that means the game is out of date which means we need to move the series forward if you really like Halo 3 that much play it don’t want the next game to be a reskinned Halo 3, we need a jump forward like Gears 2 to 3.
Agreed a straightup CoD Like system is not what we want at all, but maybe we should embrace a variation of it for Halo[I’m positive it will not be like CoD’s…much] If WoW hadn’t innovated on Everquest and other MMO’s would it have been King for 7 years.
In conclusion the old Halo is dead, this is a fact if you don’t believe me play Halo 3 there’s about 300 people in Ranked team slayer 300 CoD is dominating because it is fun, lets not forget that people Fun is what sells games not overcomplicated map strategy proof of this is WoW and MW3 they are fun so people play them, Halo isn’t fun anymore so isn’t played as much.
*Rage over, peace.
