Stop the Hate.

Halo 4, is looking very good at the moment. I am very anticipated, and I wish more people would. First round up every footage and commentary shown, And afterwards comment on certain posts.

Firstly i ensure you, every person on this forum will buy Halo 4 anyway. So you can freely share your opinion. but do not act like your opinion is what Halo 4 is going to be like.

Secondly, the kill speeds and populations. Killspeeds are this way so new people can learn to play the game as well. 343 probably does not want new players to get owned like people in for example Gears of war 2/3. every day 60.000 different people play GoW3, 17 may 2012 13:45(European time) 3000 people are online. that is pathetic.

Thirdly, Reach has a low daily population as well. plainly because of slow gameplay and random deaths(lucky bloom kills, spraying wins every time no skill involved). I love Halo 4 for the fact that not every weapon has bloom. That was Reach’s biggest mistake.

Furthermore, Halo 4 does not need a 4 shot weapon. If they make the BR a 4 shot kill weapon, and change nothing but the BR you have a : Spawn-power weapon. Just like halo 3 and halo 2. This is what scares away new players. I have to say i did not like Halo 2 gameplay. Simple because i got xboxlive, when halo 3 was released. Because i was a halo fan i wanted to try Halo 2 online. but was horrible out-played by the Hardcore community there. I Understand how people felt when they played against me and my friends in Halo 3.

I just hope that people will see why Fast kill times make the game more skilled but also make new players scared. (Not talking about COD kill times, Cod gameplay is simple and easy to pick up, there is your reason why COD is more popular than Gears and Halo.)

I have played Every Halo game, bought some legendary editions, read some of the books and love to play halo.

Every time the Halo community gets in charge of a game, Halo reach, stuff went horribly wrong. The community demanded a bloom less playlist. a pathetic 10.000 people played it the first week. The weeks before the playlist was discarded, nearly 100 people played it every day. They said in multiple posts on the forum. Every playlist would empty and every one would play Halo ZB slayer. This was not the case, supporting my statement even more.
In ZB slayer you did not need another weapon than a DMR, pistol, needle rifle or a power weapon.
I really loved how other weapons were useful in the originally Halo Reach. It made the Sandbox much more fun. (isn’t that what we are all aiming for?)

I hope 343 does not listen to us at this moment. I am going to wait until the game is released and then i will tell them what is wrong, and hope they change it.

I wont the tell them i want a classic playlist. Simply because i am done with halo 3 and halo reach. i want something new, i’m anticipated about Halo 4, not a Halo2 / Halo3 or Halo reach remake.

As i said earlier you can speak your mind, but do not act like your opinion is the opinion of every one on this forum.

Share your opinion, but don’t think BSangel will comment on your post and completely agree with you.

Share your opinion, but don’t think that the next bulletin will have your ideas in it.

My statement, wait until the game is done, or when you have actually played it.

My solution, Play the game, look what is broken, and tell 343 that. Do not tell 343 to remove a weapon, or change the game dynamics because then you get lame playlists like anniversary slayer and ZB playlist.

Take this into your mind. Do what ever you like with this information. I hope you agree and i am just trying to stop the hate on the unknown.

I only used other games as comparison, not saying a particular game is better than the other, even if my opinion is different. But that is a personal matter.

People are not hating the unknown. They are hating what will make Halo 4 suffer the same fate Reach did. A competitive game (a la Halo 2) is good for every Halo player, regardless of skill.

> Furthermore, Halo 4 does not need a 4 shot weapon. If they make the BR a 4 shot kill weapon, and change nothing but the BR you have a : Spawn-power weapon. Just like halo 3 and halo 2. I couldn’t disagree more. The reason you were “out-played” is not because of the weapon sandbox, but because they were better than you, and it should stay that way. The reason you were out-played was because you played a game with a large skill-gap.

If you lost, you are worse. This game should NOT be like Infinity Ward’s way of gaming - catering to noobs is NOT the way to go. You will gain a lot of casual players who will buy the game and then nothing else, while losing the majority of previous competitive players (And the in-betweens) who would buy DLC because they enjoyed the game and would like more stuff.

If you suck, deal with it. I don’t hate the game. I feel like I’m going to love it. But if everything was made for ‘new players’ to learn, no.
Old players have to learn too.

Suck? Get better. Don’t ask for an easier game.

Halo 4 never needs a ‘4-shot weapon’. Halo 4 needs a good balance of weapons, and faster than Reach gameplay. Slow gameplay is very much for noobs. Go into a casual playlist, and then look at MLG games. The gameplay in MLG is MUCH faster. If you were outplayed, then You Sucked. In Halo 3, if you won, you were BETTER. The larger the skill gap, the more variety, the more players in the game. It isn’t about making sure noobs can win pro’s, its about making sure noobs slowly get better. That’s why 1-50 was good in that aspect.

If a new player is scared, its because they don’t want to ‘learn’.

Each time I play a new game, I am not ‘scared’. I am enthusiastic. I want to get better. If not, I will not buy it. At first, I was horrible with aiming. Slowly, I got better and better. I was never scared. Halo never lost me as a customer. For the first month that it sucked, I was drawn in by how awesome everything was. When I got accustomed to everything, it wasn’t really epic. But I was. That kept me playing, until I got bored with winning a lot. So I played the fun gametypes. And then I went back to winning. The only reason I practically stopped Reach was because I felt like it was one of the worse Halo’s. I disliked its speed of gameplay.

If you feel like other weapons were useless, be happy. Thats what they are changing in H4. In fact, they did this by listening to the community. The community said out what it felt like, 343 realized it.

343 cannot listen to us at this moment. They are practically finished with the game. If you feel like we are hating it, suck it up. Its called voicing your opinion, and it is ok to do for a game liek this.

> Thirdly, Reach has a low daily population as well. plainly because of slow gameplay and random deaths(lucky bloom kills, spraying wins every time no skill involved). I love Halo 4 for the fact that not every weapon has bloom. That was Reach’s biggest mistake.

Here specifically you don’t know what your talking about. Reach has a low daily population because it is old now, it isn’t exciting nor innovative, it has become bland and repetitive. Not because of “lucky bloom kills” you really think people are playing less because of “lucky bloom kills” if that’s the case you could argue other people are playing more because they are getting “lucky bloom kills”.

Reach also has too many silly playlist options, they also fail to provide plenty of maps for each playlist. For example, when you play SWAT you tend to get the same maps over and over, Countdown, Reflection, Zealot, and every now and then Boardwalk.

Not to mention on maps like Zealot and Countdown the game always starts out in either of two ways, and it’s become predictable.

> Which in my opinion was a big mistake. Halo 2 was harder to master i agree, and because Halo 2 was this hard, my friends never even tried playing Halo 2 again because losing is never any fun. I tried it a couple of times after that day, but never had the feeling like i did in Halo CE and Halo 3. And these people playing in Halo 2 wont spare beginners(they did not do it either in Halo 3)But in halo 3 there were more people and they were matched up with players of the same skill. That’s why the community was so small the last year it was still online. Beginners got matched up with the seasoned pro’s.

So people have been playing Halo2 for some years, that means the skill gap was created by me getting matched up with Halo2 pro’s. And that means the system was really bad, before the end of the game i was playing 2 vs 4 because my teammates quieted because the opponents were that skilled.

Basically, you are saying that a game which caters to noobs is a good game?

Um, hello? Halo has always been competitive. Noobs can play with other noobs until they get better. Halo has always been more about skill. Heck, even some of the cod games were competitive! The older ones, at least.

If a noob can pick up any weapon and be pro with it immediately, there’s a problem.

You talk about population, and yet you want the majority of it feel like the game is no longer a good game.

I thought Halo was mostly about people without a job playing with other people without a job.

Halo 4 already looks 50 % better than Reach

Yes, it is looking very good. It will be interesting to see if they add select fire for weapons. If you all remember Halo 2 at E3, the BR prototype fired single-shot, like the DMR. Guns today have select-fire; why shouldn’t the guns have it in Halo?

My greatest wish: bring back the M7 SMG. Great weapon, highly customizable, it eats people up at close range.
