STOP THE GREED!

Before you go write and ridicule my Subject title, read a little further… please.

This insatiable greed from Xbox needs to stop. They knew we wanted the Halo 3, Reach style customization back. And what do they do to us? Monetize it, and they will undoubtedly hide it behind a huge grind to entice us to stay on and keep their “Daily Active Users” up.

Here are the facts, Xbox fully backs Micro-transactions in their 1st party games. Halo 5, Halo Wars 2, Gears 4, Forza 5, 6 and 7 all had Lootboxes. Then they changed to overly expensive skins, and kill animations in Gears 5, only after the loot box outcry. And now this in Halo Infinite.

You can not say they haven’t built the Multi-Player around this. Because they already proved they have built a mode around REQ Packs in Halo 5 Guardians War Zone!

And don’t say they need to do this, they didn’t need to from 2001 to 2010! And they get free billions from Xbox Live. Free to Play does not mean they need to monetize armor customization in this manner!

And it is sickening, because neither Nintendo nor PlayStation do this kind of greedy garbage, and they are not supported by a TRILLION dollar company. Although, Nintendo do has done some shady stuff recently. But Xbox is doing it too much! Xbox is right there with EA, Take-Two, and Activision.

Take a stand Halo, Xbox fans!

You’re absolutely right. I’ve said it many times: monetization is the one thing players should worry about. Not the graphics, not the story, not the gameplay, monetization.

The customization is only on the multiplayer portion of the game. And the multiplayer has been stated as free to play. And as well 343 has stated that the coatings are available via gameplay unlocks as well. So you don’t have to pay for all of them you can earn them via a system similar to the MCC seasons. Personally I’m okay with that, but then again if I’m playing multiplayer the color of my Spartan is based on what team I am on…red or blue.

From what I assume we can change armor types, pieces, etc but before everyone complains excessively how about we wait and see what it’s like at release or when a more detailed/hands on demo is given. I feel alot are making too big of a deal over it.

I agree. We should wait and see what comes of this. But the idea that armor colors might be hidden behind a paywall or a grindfest is something to be aware of. The only reason I’m even back on the forums is because I heard about this, and needed to see what the community was thinking about this.

Please stop man. We’ve had enough of the ‘‘its not that bad’’ community with H5’s REQ system which was a total disaster and a grind fest. F2P is not a good thing, its only an excuse to shove as many MTX as they can. If every armor piece has its own color there will be thousands of pieces. How long do you think it will take to unlock all of that? The grind will be insane, just like in H5 and many players will spend money to save time. The fact that paying is not mandatory doesn’t make it acceptable. The game will still be built around microtransactions and it will do everything to make you want to use your credit card. We shouldn’t have to put up with this -Yoink-. ‘‘Wait and see at release’’ yeah a lot of people said that for Battlefront 2. But the community stood up against EAs greed during the beta and it worked. We need to do the same for Halo.

So we should completely forget about what they have already done in recent games? And forget how it used to be in Iconic games like Halo 3?

“Those who forget the past, are doomed to repeat it”.

Xbox is following and supporting garbage trends.

I like the Halo 5 system way better than the old Halo games DLC system. It was absolutely brutal buying all DLC maps and almost never playing them in MM.

Cosmetic only = yes please. Only thing that would truly ruin Halo would be pay to win in arena. That will never happen.

Exactly. But by these responses, we may be fighting an uphill battle man. Someone actually said they’d rather do this than pay for Map Packs. And that’s unbelievable.

As if there is only this garbage, or the Map Packs.

There are other ways!
