Stop supporting your claim by "it's free"

When there are people criticizing Halo 5 and 343, there are people defending them. Defending isn’t a bad thing, but the annoying thing is these defenders use “it’s free” to support their claim. Like always, I have not seen any evidence other than free. At least critics have compelling evidence and explain why they are criticizing. Then do I want DLC pack that splits the community? Of course not. Free can’t be excuse of everything.
Please give reasons on your defense. Give evidence to support your claim. Thanks.

I mean I would have preferred Halo 5 to include everything DLC provided at launch, but if that meant delaying Halo 5 6 months I’ll gladly take what I got at launch.

Good free support is always a good thing, now whether it’s good or not is a different story.

So far, the two options we have is this free system, or the DLC route that does split the community.

Maybe, but the paid DLC 343 has offered in the past (Halo Reach and 4) was of a much higher quality than the free updates of Halo 5.

Halo 5 updates are pathetic and embarrassing.

Halo Reach barely had a DLC playlist, so it was integrated into the Slayer Gametype. That means you had a chance of getting a DLC map if everyone in the lobby had the pack, and if everyone chose it. You were essentially playing Quadruple RNG

I don’t even want to talk about Halo 4’s DLC. Remember the Crimson map pack ordeal with the secret “Try and Buy”?

Also, 343 attempted to require the Majestic DLC for Team Slayer. The DLC requirement took the playlist from the top 2 in population to almost the bottom. They removed the DLC requirement afterwards and removed the DLC requirements from their weekly playlists after the first weekly playlist struggled to maintain over 150 players in it. Keep in mind the Majestic map pack was included in the map pass…

For the most part, not everything, I’d have to agree with you. I’m glad 343I finally realized how bad there post game stats were and changed that at least… not being able to view medals after a match… what were you thinking 343I, so laughable lol Now… if we could only get the pre game lobby (Which is a HUGE joke btw) like how it was on Halo 1-3 or Reach, we’d be laughing!

“But it’s free!” #Silverlining

OMG

I’d easily rather “suffer” through Halo 5 all over again than deal with Halo 4’s “DLC”

Would I have preferred more content at launch? Yes
Would I like paid DLC map packs splitting the players?
No
Have some of the updates been disappointing?
Yes
Have the regular updates kept me playing this game almost daily since October?
Hell yes!

Well, now you won’t have to worry about it anymore, won’t you? The “free” DLC is over. Warzone Firefight is that last “free” DLC. From now on, any content updates will most likely be 15-20 USD and occur roughly every 3-4 months like with any other modern FPS shooter, with patches occurring every month, or on an as-needed basis.

However, it was never truly “free”. It was subsidized from the sales of the REQ packs. The fact that the whole “free” argument got to you means you didn’t understand that particular bit either. On the plus side, from now on I only have to see topics from people whining about making Halo great again as they continue to play, buy REQs, and basically enjoy a game they seem to so blatantly despise and cry about in one facet or another. GG

Well, imma just leave it at this: back in the Bungie days, they would release a map pack every three months with three maps. We get a map every month. They average out to the same rate of maps. This also includes Forge updates and more weapons. Sure, these updates are also to kinda finish the game, but at least it isn’t like Destiny. I spent a total of $100 on that game and it still sucked.

The other question is, has this system, and more specifically, what was not available at launch, and later released as “Free” helped or hurt the community and population for Halo 5 and the series in general?

I’m sure the REQ System has made 343i/Microsoft a lot of money so for that reason, they probably think this is a great way to release a game.

… And this system hasn’t split the community? Serious question, not really being sarcastic. I gave up and walked away from sheer boredom because all there was to play for ‘casual’ players was WZ and I disliked the req system. I tried to gather some enthusiasm for BTB when it released only to be sorely disappointed.

Finally, after how many months, they release WZFF… and it’s a mess (IMO) for anyone that just wants to have fun and not have over emphasis on competition shoved down their throat.

It’s not that I’m begging to get paid DLC back, per se… but at least with it, each side of the division in the community could still play, as opposed to being so frustrated with what they “don’t have to pay for” that they just move on and don’t bother to play the game at all.

If all we do is change the REQ system and and DLC, all you’ll get is Bigger Team Battle and new maps every month. You’ll still be missing a huge number of playlists.

Even when we had things like Social Slayer added in Halo 5, people complained about how they were trying harder than ever because of hidden ranks. Then for some reason 343i loosened the matchmaking, which will only make the problem worse.

I find the game fun. It seems like the people who enjoy the game are actually playing and the people who complaining are either here or complaining somewhere else

I can support any claim by anything I want… don’t tell me what I can and can’t claim

I stopped being interested in the free dlc after the BTB update, when I realized " These maps are all forged an look awful, they probably won’t make one dev btb map. This free dlc stuff is a sham".

Oh well, at least I got overwatch now.

I do not understand what you are asking.
