Stop saying that it is turning into CoD

The ONLY things Halo 4 has in common with cowadoody are:
Sprint (Cowadoody was most certainly not the first game to have this)
Loadouts (Same goes for this)
Spartan Ops (Similar in name only)

“I want Halo, not COD!”

“I want Halo 4 not Reach 2.0!”

“HALO IS DED”

Among other catchphrases of this dreaded Halo -Yoink!-.

Many games have sprint… Even BF has sprint and who gives a -Yoink- about the name, it effects nothing.

Stop saying -Yoink!-, this isn’t south park, there’s no need for that.

Loadouts aren’t COD’s invention.

What else is there to call it? The Great Halo Scare?

whelp, this thread is about to get locked. But it doesn’t matter if CoD invented them or not, it is still quite clear that 343 is taking these features from CoD because currently CoD rules the market.

I said exactly that.

And who cares if these features are taken from other titles if they are well implemented?

Because they are changing the core traits of Halo as an Arena shooter. I am fine with Spartan Ops though, they just need to change the name.

Instant Respawn

Spartan Points - Buys armour (Weapon + other proficiencies)Buys AA’s (Basically perks) buys maps for the Spartan OPS. Spartan OPS isn’t just a name, it’s going to copy exactly what Special ops is.

DO YOUR FACTS RIGHT

The point isn’t that CoD created sprint/loadout/etc. It’s that CoD is the best selling game with those features. Hardcore fans like myself see it as making the game more like CoD to turn to appeal to it’s fans.

So even though there are plenty of other popular games with these features, they’re obviously copying Call of Duty because it’s the most popular?

Their place-filler name for one feature is “Spartan Ops”. It is obvious.

Halo stopped being an arena shooter in 2007.

Can we really say this with certainty? I don’t believe so. The core aspects are still there, with some new flare added on top. In addition, we have no context for these changes. We don’t know exactly how Forerunner Vision works, how Sprint works, how these new weapon drops will work, or to what extent the majority of these changes are integrated into the overall experience.

Really? Because I don’t recall loadouts in Halo 3. I believe you meant 2010.

WUT.

Core Halo:

  1. Universal starting weapon (BR/DMR/Pistol/AR)
  2. Static and predictable weapon and player spawns.

I see problems already.

I like how you didn’t read about what Spartan Ops is, and immediately went to saying that it is a rip off of Spec Ops. If you had read it, you would know that it is going to he an episodic Co-Op campaign that HAS AN ACTUAL STORY. It’s not just shooting at enemies.

Do you know what an arena shooter is? Once people are not starting equally, it has become a weird mixture of a class based and arena shooter.

Maybe SO is training sessions for Marines, nothing like COD.
