Halo 5’s updates are just things that should have been there at launch then new REQs that personalty feel are pointless never a new weapon or vehicle just new variations of old stuff and amour. These updates are free because 343 could not release all of the game modes and maps at release but if you look at the “free updates” what we got was
Big Team Battle (forge Maps)
Grifball
Assault
3 Fiesta
Soical Playlists
5 Forge
All of these playlists should have been in the game at launch. Also with maps that should have been at launch as well because of the lack of maps in the beginning. These “free updates” had to be free because halo 5 was missing so many things that need to be in halo. The updates don’t add anything new to the Halo series. So please stop praising 343 about the “free Updates” because they are not free everyone bought the game and since it was half a game 343 had to add these updates to make it a true Halo Game
While I agree they should have been there at launch, it STILL has to be commended that they are giving it to us for free. Other developers would charge for it, even if it was shamelessly pulled content that has always been in previous installments.
I also think this bandwagon hate against REQ’s is ridiculous. Yes, microtransactions are bad but this is a system that isn’t too intrusive. Not only that, but crowd-funded DLC works extremely well in games like League of Legends.
In spite of all of this, it still rubs me the wrong way that it’s being presented and heralded as free or “new” content.
Stop saying what should have been in the game at launch… just because previous game had stuff doesn’t mean the next game will have it. Updates are updates regardless of what you THINK a game should or shouldn’t have.
its a free country mate, I could say, praise, Play, Do whatever i want when i feel like it. so if i praise For the free updates, What are you going to do? Blab More nonsense That not much would bother reading about. Smh
I can’t help but agree. When 343 advertised monthly updates free of charge, I didn’t predict that this would mean a good 6 months of playing catch-up featuring a few maps that are nearly universally despised and req bloat that no one ever asked for.
Actually, I totally predicted that last one. But not the rest. If you’d told me that we would be excited about infection possibly getting announced half a year after launch, I’d have told you that you were cynical even by my standards.
Halo 5’s campaign maps along with the fps/resolution and just general scope of the game took up a lot of space and dev time, so I’m ok with them trickling out the less crucial elements of the game over time for free via updates. The base game was worth $60 so I can’t complain anyway.
Here 343, have some praise: Great job, this game is crazy fun!
I kind of thought these free DLC’s would be more maps than they were. I also feel like the assault maps were a bit of a fake out, counting it as a new map. I like BTB as well and was hoping that they would have more maps for that too. Maybe I’m stuck in a world where the DLC was always maps and the updates gave us gamemodes. I use to pay like $15-$20 for 3-4 maps on the old Halos, and that seemed worth it. Paying $0 for a junk map now is worth the cost but maybe not the time:enjoyment.

Yes but they are in place instead of paid DLC so they are paying for these updates.
Really? Your going to tell me to stop liking something that I like?
I like free updates, because I don’t have to pay. There isn’t much more, I wont hate on people who I don’t know, and who I believe are putting a whole lot of effort into this.

You bought the game which was supposed to have all the content from the free updates. so the updates are not free its just 343 playing catch up
I hate it when people are literally almost trying to force people to stop liking something. Like in all honesty I really enjoy the free content, mainly due to the fresh new maps, guns, skins and some new stuff. Sure I would have liked it for most of these gametypes to have been there at launch, but that won’t stop me from appreciating the actual new content in terms of maps that I don’t have to pay for.

But what I realize is that sometimes things fall behind schedule, sometimes things have to be cut, sometimes their so ambitious they need more time. I wont try to constrain 343 because of release dates. If they feel or want more time, then by all means, take it. Their not charging us for it, so its not a money ploy. I’d rather they take that time than give us a half-baked product.
If I have to wait for the finished product I’m ok with that.

Lmao for all you know OP can be a sheep following the hate 343 bandwagon. Your reply makes absolutely no sense. While his does. Some ppl like the updates and some don’t so because they don’t share your opinion they are in the wrong? Cool story bro
