Okay so not judging all low level players but regarding most of them, they completely ruin online ranked games. I have had terrible experiences with players that are low levels in ranked online games and it’s gotten to the point that I’ve decided to make this a topic in the forums because I assume most people are having similar issues.
Getting to the point as I’ve said I have had terrible experiences with low level players joining ranked games and completely ruining the game due to the fact that they still don’t know how to play. For example 50% of the time they will leave the game, take or (steal) more than 2 base locations on your side of the map leaving you with nothing, not building ANY units and pretty much just lose you the game in general due to being inexperienced with the game.
There should be a level cap before starting ranked games because I’m sick of always being put with players under level 10 that don’t do anything the entire game but rely on others to carry them. Apart from all that I have no issue with low level players, just get some experience before jumping into ranked playlists because a lot of players are level 50 and having a level 1-10 usually still have no idea what they’re doing.
Yeah, I solo queue at least as much as I run with friends. It does surprise me to see these really low ranks throwing themselves into ranked matches with no mic. And it seems like I’m going against teams of friends sometimes even when I’m solo queueing.
Yeah a lot of people quit the game before it even starts if there is a low level player on their team because they know it will ruin their service record if they lose and personally as annoying as it is when someone leaves before the game even starts, I don’t blame them.
There’s also an LFG function that helps you start a 2v2 or 3v3 with a like minded player. Low ranks shouldn’t be barred because you decide to run the risk of having a low rank teammate.
Personally I think there should be some restriction of who can queue for ranked play. Not to prevent low level players from playing, but the discourage smurfing.
Would you be surprised to hear that these people even leave Games against the AI . I hate to play ranked games without friends , so I play against the AI to get the Challenges done. And even there I have to play with somekind of low ranked player who doesn t know that you need to build units in less than 30 mins to even have a chance of winning the game. Some other guys the other day just left instantly after the game started because it was the wrong mode and the heroic AI would have been to “hard” for them after I praised their gaming skills.
I somehow think the hidden rank thing doesnt work, you should be matched with player with your skill. But I am not.

As someone who has never played Rumble, I don’t like that suggestion, but something similar like play 10 matches against the AI - or something similar - would be fine.

I wouldn’t like either of those suggestions. Never played rumble. Maybe like just 5 unranked games first, but me and my friends can hardly get in 2 games before we have to get to bed because of work. It takes us forever just to do placement matches because of time restraints and prior commitments.

10 Matches against the AI wouldn’t be nothing but a thang. You could do them whenever, at your own pace.
I agree. Me n my brother played 3v3 ranked and our partner 35mins in only had 80 pop, un-upgraded units, 7 banshees an engineer and maurader, i usually laugh and say hell yeah a noob when I see maurader, but cry when my ally uses them. That’s one of the most obvious ways you can tell they are a banished noob, the maurader.

I like your solution, only problem is you can level up through campaign which means they could have no online experience and still enter ranked. They might assume that they can just amass an army and win without knowing how to properly scout, rush, or combat strategies. if they beat the campaign and were level 10 and joined your game, the situation might’ve played out the same way.

Theoretically yes. But the number of Concurrent Online Player is so pathetic that the game just HAS to drop that limitation after searching for minutes without finding a match for you.

Tell that to 343i/CA that made Blitz 2v2 on PC ranked only!
I never was a fan of the stupid cards with no level cap nonsense to begin with, but now they just put the last nail into the coffin to that mode. Bravo! By the way: can we stop with microtransactions in games? I’m getting tired of RNG cards/packages in every MS game. This time around it’s true pay to win as well! Sorry for the little rant…
Back to topic what you’re saying is kinda obvious in Deathmatch as well (especially when they steal your mini-base, f*** I hate that!), but that’s why communication is so important in a RTS! Try to play with people you know or at least with a mic on hand. Even when you get no response, they’re listening and might follow your instructions.
I feel like the problem isn’t that they’re playing ranked, the issue is that the game matches you with two people below rank 10 and puts you up against three people rank 30 and up.

That’s because the “three people rank 30 and up” are in a pre made party and can’t be splinted. Hence the “team players are ruining this game” thread.
Most of the people that I’ve deemed trash are rank 25 and up. You can always tell who was an Anders main pre-Sentinel nerf because they’ll be a level 50 and have no idea how to incorporate strategy or Counter units into their army😂.
By the way: can we stop with microtransactions in games? I’m getting tired of RNG cards/packages in every MS game. This time around it’s true pay to win as well! Sorry for the little rant…
