Stop patching your game

Seriously it get worse every time. I played vs ai and half my units were gone at some point. When i selected all units they were shown in the selection but they were nowhere on the map and still blocked my supply. I had no supply and no units at the end.

So what your saying is you encountered the shipmaster teleport off the map bug. Guess they shouldn’t patch it to fix that.

He’s saying the patch created that.

Which it didn’t, this issue was present from launch.

Happened to me and my buddy in a 2v2 against the legendary A.I. one of them being the shipmaster.

Bug apparently only affects skirmish.

Yeah, the shipmaster’s out of bounds teleporting has been present since launch, it isn’t a patch-specific issue. Generally my experience has gotten a lot better with each patch personally.

it was a bug before they have released the last patch, BUT it’s more often now… with the new patch are 9 of 10 teleports ‘out of stage’.
he is totally imba now, because he can teleport all your units out of stage, so that he can kill you with a few units… or you quit the game and he wins.

Lol, AI knows how to exploit glitches XD

But with enough proper beta testing that should have been addressed pre-launch…

True, maybe it’s indicative of the testing ratio by mode. PVE Skirmish might have not been stress tested as PvP must have been but yes you are correct.

It just goes to show how sloppy devs and publishers get these days. Back in the old days these things weren’t nearly as big an issue.

Hmm, I would disagree to a degree (see what I did there?) just because I think game development is insanely complex in comparison to the days of Warcraft. I am sure that those days had their share of hurdles on the technical side but it’s difficult to understand from our end (the consumer) how complex development is in relation to how widely available top tier developer talent is.

A lot of the tools used to make video games today are made by a few brilliant people where the nuances of using said tech is lost on any person(s) trying to use this tech to release product, particularly if it’s the devs first time using the tech.

Hence why a dev only gets better when familiarity with a game engine grows through repeat usage (developing more games with those tools).
All that said, as of this writing, I have no idea if Creative Assembly used an engine they’ve never used, they had to build an engine from scratch (which would reinforce this point as well), or if what you’re saying is relevant and this was a “lazy” job which in that case wow that’s impressive talent if this was a half–Yoinked!- effort lol

He is really slow, this is a product of the first patch, not the latest one. If you people complaining about this multiple times a day would actually read the forum you would know this is on the radar, it’s being fixed next patch, only reason it did not get fixed in this patch was because it was discovered to late, the patch was made and in cret when it was discovered

This is true, however this leads me to believe that there are at least a few slackers who somehow graduated with game design degrees working for them (I know game design isn’t easy but say if an engineer who doesent know their stuff that well designed a bridge and it fails there would be serious consequences).

That and if they developed a new engine then they should know it inside and out right?

That and/or they either don’t know how to properly play test or refuse to. If one of those two issues were solved I believe games’s quality would rise to pre X box 360 levels.

Quality is so multifaceted that I think it’s impossible to plug all the holes but ambition and push to be better is super important. I don’t think either of us are wrong on this or anyone that may fall onto one side of the perception.

All in all, good points.

You as well. I mean, I just advocate for the consumer as opposed to the devs and publishers in all situations because let’s be real here. MS doesent need to make any more money than t already does (which is a ton).

Oh look! It’s the 20th topic about Shipmaster exploits.

I don’t know man, I personally can’t say the same, but I feel sorry for you having that problem eh?
I do dearly hope that the patches in the future will help you rather than hinder you, as you have described.

Funny you use Warcraft days as a comparison, blizzard had one of the biggest screw ups of all time back when world of warcraft was new, look up the blood plague.

Don’t even need to read daily. Just do a simple search for “teleport bug” or “Shipmaster bug” and voilà.

You guys do know that even if a bug is found prior to release, that they don’t always get fixed. There is a risk reward ratio of what is critical to fix vs. what is not. Developers tend to fix critical issues prior to release and in patches following release over bugs that just suck. Hence why crash bugs and disconnect bugs were resolved prior to this shipmaster bug. I wouldn’t say it is because of a lack of credentials by any means, but instead a lack of time or a non-risky fix couldn’t be found to resolve such an issue.
