Stop nerfing defense

Every patch we get a nerf to something defsenive, be it Atriox or turrets. Why? How much Aggro do you need in a game that’s over by seven minutes tops?

This time it was shield stacking, which was kinda annoying but not game breaking. It was turrets around the time Kinsano dropped, attiox gets hit with something every patch, and the only other defensive leader (Johnson) is so -Yoink- that his defensive perks don’t even work. And when we do get a turret buff, it’s to make siege turrets, the one offensive turret, cheaper.

Slow down the damn game. I’m playing an RTS, not a damn racing game.

Short of them removing power nodes from every map straight defense is never going to be very viable as a legitimate strategy. Achieving map control is basically essential to success at higher levels of play, a defensive playstyle sacrifices this map control, and thus the advantage that goes along with it.

Yes, but his point is siege turrets are not for really defensive plays. Sure they can somewhat defend your base, but they are more effective when you are attacking another base nearby or having a major encounter nearby.

I’m not advocating for turtling or just defending forever, as We get firefight in September. I know map control is important, that’s not the point here. All I’m asking is for decent turrets or a good shield, as The current turrets are worthless and base shields are really pathetic now. High level players are just rushers, from what I’ve seen, and that is the least strategic pro level of a strategy game I’ve ever seen. Just give turrets a flat increase to damage or something to make them more than garbage piles.

I said that in my post. Siege turrets are the least defensive of any turrets, as their range is mostly used for artillery when assaulting nearby bases or pushing up. Not defensive at all, really.

You’ve got to be kidding. If you look at any pro level players in any other game like halo 5, cod, dota 2 or League and if you want a good example just watch sc2. Nobody in the pro scene sits around and wastes time camping or whatever playing defense. They actively look for ways to get ahead and trip up the opponent. Basically they are playing the game at the top which means knowing every single option the opponent has and what they can do to counter those options.
Now defense is necessary for obtaining an advantage in some points but sitting around doing nothing behind your turrets probably not even scouting or building units is not a reason to get turrets buffed. If anything turrets and shields are in a good place right now and don’t need tweaking, because most aggression can be held off by defenders advantage.

So, Atriox got a massive defensive buff with this last patch. Players are actually using invincible a lot, and it’s super effective.

As for shields, I somewhat agree. Stacking wasn’t the problem as much as shields coming up during battle, which still happens.

Johnson is a hot mess. He’s not great for turtling, but that seems to be what he could do well.
What about Serina? She’s a great defensive leader?

Also, Yap’s don’t shoot me is the cheapest, quickest, get of jail free ability in the game.
