Stop milking this Franchise.

Do not make nonconstructive posts.

Just stop. Ever since Halo 4, this use to be amazing franchise has gone down hill and through the ground. Remember the days of Halo CE through Halo 3(2001-2011, I’m including Wars, ODST, and Reach.)? If you are a long time Halo fan like myself you know what I mean. For those who don’t know this was considered the golden age of Halo. It was a time where Halo looked down on all the other franchises out there. CoD, Battlefield, Killzone, Gears of War (which is awesome I recommend this to others), Uncharted, etc. If have an Xbox/Xbox 360, then you know Halo USE to be. Then, in 2012, when we thought the legendary tale was over we got Halo 4. This disgusting, wretched, unorganized “game” was made by 343 Industries. I couldn’t believe how overhyped this game was. The story made no sense. All the the flood was destroyed, the covenant was dispanded and broken. There was no threat, peace was restored, the Halos were shut down. But no, Microsoft will come with any bs excuses out of its -Yoink- to keep the story going. Then we have the MCC in 2014. No description nesscessary to this absolutely unfixable “game”. Now we have Halo 5. At first I thought the game would be good. However the more time I spend playing the game, the more I realize that the whole point of multiplayer is grinding for req packs. We have a “story” where nothing is explained to us with more bs excuses like “Oh Cortana survived and is now forerunner and wants to kill everyone.” The multiplayer is endless grind for gold req packs with no garentuee that you are going to get legendary items. This game is literally 343’s version of Destiny but what is worse is that it is tainting Halo’s reputation and its community. The fact that 343 said that they were already working on Halo 6 before H5 released made me want to throw up. Ever since 2012, this use to be glorious community has been split in two. We have the old school fans such as myself that say Halo should have stopped after 3. And we have the rookies who started at Halo 4 who want 343 to turn Halo into Cod.
343 even has a scheldule planned. 2016 Halo Wars 2. 2017 Halo 3 Anniversary. 2018 Halo 6: Why does this exist?
You should have pulled the plug at Reach.
Just stop.

Halo Reach was the most fun I have ever had playing Halo. Invasion on Boneyard + Stealing human weapons as a dinosaur + stealing banshee as a human = most fun in Halo I ever had !

i agree fam i sold halo 5 months ago

Agreed. It was part of the Golden Age. Then Halo 4 hit the shelves and shattered many spirits.

. I’ve played halo since halo ce, and I think that halo 5 is the best halo to date. Just because someone likes halo 5 doesn’t mean that they didn’t play halo in its early days. The only halo I didn’t love is halo 4, but it’s not terrible imo.

also I don’t think you can compare halo to destiny because everything is cosmetic. The core arena multiplayer doesn’t use reqs.

First off, spoiler alert? I’m sure plenty of people haven’t finished the campaign.

Second, you have your own opinions, and you’re welcome to them.

Third, lore-wise, the story progression makes sense. The covenant was the least of our problems. The flood is, by no means, gone for good. The forerunners and humans have been rivals since prehistory. AI Rampancy is perfectly rational. Cortana, who has absorbed far more data than any other AI, has been set up to take this path since Halo 2.

4th, I’m an old halo fan. I bought CE the day it came out, read every book, was broken-hearted when bungie did what they did with reach, was thrilled that 343 took over, was downtrodden when 4 didn’t meet expectations, but am now loving 5. Point is, just like how fans now are split on every subject, vets have been split since the beginning. You don’t speak for all old players.

finally, I thank you for your opinions. But do well enough to respect that not everyone will agree with you, just as they wont all agree with me. I for one will wait until I see how halo 6 wraps up before I judge 343’s handling of the franchise – 4 and 5 could and should well be simple stepping stones in the overall story.

Halo 5 isn’t Halo 4 bad but it’s fixable if 343 tweaks certain mechanics and integrates armor unlocks to achievements. Not just rng armor. Also weapon tweeks like AR nerf and pistol ROF buff

Just stop. Ever since Halo 4, this use to be amazing franchise has gone down hill and through the ground.
This actually started when Bungie released Reach.

Actually that was Halo 2-Halo 3, CoD rose to power during that time thanks to the MW series and WaW but it wasn’t “king” yet.

If have an Xbox/Xbox 360, then you know Halo USE to be.
And if you own a One then you can relive what Halo used to be by playing MCC.

Disgusting? Slightly. Wretched? Again, slightly. Unorganized? How? We had everything at launch, plenty of playlists and maps, and the highest amount of content and support in a Halo game aside from Halo Reach (until Halo 5 of course.) The story was confusing if you didn’t read any of the extended universe. Flood’s not dead buddy, only one of a million graveminds were killed. Covenant dispanded? Yes, but, that doesn’t mean all of them were like “Hey, we love humans now!” Plenty of them were still trying to destroy humanity and plenty also want Arbiter dead, plus with the war out of the way, the Indies had the opportunity to become a threat again, so they did. Peace never existed in Halo dude.

Then we have the MCC in 2014. No description nesscessary to this absolutely unfixable “game”.
Umm, I’m pretty sure if I went onto MCC anytime between March and now I could find a game, play it without crashing, and experience the classic Halo gameplay I love and know in 60 FPS and 1080p. The game has been fine for months.

No it’s not. While a flawed system, the REQs aren’t about grinding gold packs. Grinding? Yes. Grinding gold? Nope, many strategies exist for getting many different sets of armor and other items in the game. Besides rarity doesn’t mean it’s good. Some of the best armor I’ve seen in the game are rares or even commons! The story sucked for many reasons but the levels themselves were the best co-op levels since ODST. BTW Cortana is not forerunner and she was suppose to be the main villain of CE before changes were made. Take that as you will.

This game is literally 343’s version of Destiny but what is worse is that it is tainting Halo’s reputation and its community.
A trend started by Bungie, makers of Halo Reach.

The fact that 343 said that they were already working on Halo 6 before H5 released made me want to throw up.
Why? It’s not like they are all working on Halo 6. Do you even know how to develop a video game?

Ever since 2012, this use to be glorious community has been split in two.
Reach.
We have the old school fans such as myself that say Halo should have stopped after 3. And we have the rookies who started at Halo 4 who want 343 to turn Halo into Cod.
We also have old school fans such as myself who love the current Halo games and 343i. And there’s also “rookies” who hate CoD and want nothing to do with it.

343 even has a scheldule planned. 2016 Halo Wars 2. 2017 Halo 3 Anniversary. 2018 Halo 6: Why does this exist?
Halo 3 Anniversary has never EVER been confirmed buddy. Nor has Halo 6 having a 2018 release date been confirmed.

You should have pulled the plug at Reach.
Bungie’s fault.

Just stop.

Oh yeah I totally remember the golden days of the old xbox. Halo 2 and 3 were absolutely fun. But honestly, the game mechanics needed to evolve and it did. You can’t just keep shipping out the same multiplayer in every Halo game, otherwise might as well make it F2P like Halo Online, but no its only on PC and you have to go through some shady stuff that I don’t want to do on my gaming PC. I love Halo 5 multiplayer, yes its lacking gamemodes, I am definitely feeling the staleness and boredom of the same gametypes but I have very high hopes 343 will deliver since they have finally conbined their whole team from the guys who worked on the MCC. I wish 2 patches come out every month instead of 1.
LOL And grind for gold packs? Did you even watch Halo followers video on how to unlock all the items and narrowing down the legendary req items? I did it, and now I have been getting legendary items non stop. Some mythic here and there like the Hermes helmet and the Helljumper armor.

Personally, I can’t think of a legitimate reason for you to care one way or the other.

Yes I did watch HF’s video but in the end it’s still grinding for all the packs

As someone who also played since CE i think halo 4 and halo reach multiplayer was garbage. Halo five is the best halo to come after halo 3. Honestly people who think halo 4 was one of the better halos i dont believe they played since CE.

Well then you’re just being impatient. I started with bronze, and now I’m finally close to finishing all of the items. Its not about buying golds all the time. You will be wasting your time unlocking uncommons and rare items in a gold pack when you can get up to 4 either uncommon/rare if you buy 2 silvers. And isn’t that the same with Reach’s store system? You had to grind credits to get the armor you want. Same thing but its randomized and if you’re smart about it and patient enough you can get all the things you want. Though I preferred Halo 3’s armor unlocking system, HOWEVER, to add so much more armor variability and so much more content, a skill level based system to unlock armor wasn’t going to cut it.

They didn’t though, their development cycle is 3 years. However, 343 had to split their developers to make the MCC which is why Halo 5 was lacking a lot of things.

Preach it, RUL.
