I swear every game I’m against people from UK, Mexico, or some area that is not US East. The lag in these games is horrendous. Can we get some local MM options please?
Maybe this says something about Halo 5’s population numbers. We cannot know for certain because 343 chose to hide the numbers from us but it’s pretty obvious that the population has dropped significantly, just like Halo 4’s did.

I’m US West and I really don’t run into this problem at all. Maybe one match in 10 is there ANY lag.
I never lag really, I’m NE US.

It’s not necessarily every game, but it happens far more than I’d like. I just want to be able to search local only or something.

Same. Halo 5 still has a large enough population to sustain itself right now but there’s no denying we are consistently losing players. The severe lack of content is the bane of Halo 5’s existence.

Same thing happens to me here in the North-West. It gets so bad it’s almost unplayable at times.

THIS the game itself is great but the lack of playlists and maps is killing this game quickly
The servers we are all playing on are based a lot closer to you than us European types. We are the ones playing with a considerably higher ping than you and thus quite a disadvantage.
If you are lagging, it is your connection, not the fact you’re playing with ‘foreigners’.
You should try playing our end at peak times.

Later in the evening the lag gets pretty bad here in Germany. I guess most have gone to sleep so I get matched with NA. Definitely not optimal.

I’m the same, hardly see any lag at all, and I’m a long, long way from you, I’m in Scotland, I think the game is pretty solid online.

hahaha jk, ya that can be frustrating but I thought you will be connected to the closest dedicated server or am I wrong? I mean it could just be your internet instead. I don’t know

Doubt american players playing in a EU server… at least often. Im from Spain and 90% of my games are in USA servers and not only NA EC… Texas, Chicago, Hawai, Mexico, Canada… 230/350 ping… thats is -Yoink-.
It’s even worse if you’re actually from the UK…the latency we have to deal with in 90% of the games is just horrible!
But apparently region MM is being tested 
Try being in the UK and playing when the east coast suddenly gets online.
What times are you playing?
Usually for me late at night I get out of region matches. But afternoon/evening I get put in the cosy US East.
This is MUCH worse for european players, as we are connecting to your servers oversea…
Halo 5 has real lag problems, and I doubt they care about it!

It was barely noticeable after launch but now I feel like shots not registering is getting real, maybe I just didn’t realise it was lag back then… There have been multiple games where players are warping throughout the whole game thus making them really hard to kill but it seems that they have no problems scoring perfect kills whatsoever. It’s not only me who’s seeing this and I also have a great ISP in Finland so I doubt is has anything to do with my personal connection.
Dunno if this is region problem but there’s definately something wrong. Thank god the killshots are registered within the client and not the server itself(I assume?), otherwise it would be worse than Lag Ops 3 and you would lose duels due to ping issues instead of majority of duel situations like this resulting in a tie.
