Halo 4 is its own Game. People always be asking for the 4 shot BR’, 50 ranking system, with Halo 3 maps. These people need to stop living in the past. Halo 4 is not a bad game, its supposed to be a new experience.
If it’s supposed to be a “new experience”, it’s failed hard. Armor abilities and Spartan Ops are the only original concepts.
Making it more “modern” doesn’t make it a “new experience”. Just about everyone here has played CoD, Battlefield, and/or Crysis.
I really don’t care about anything you listed anyways.
To be fair, many of these requests aren’t motivated by nostalgia.
People have pointed out legitimate (or at least understandable) grievances with things like the BR’s damage output or the lack of a ranking system. Their suggestions tend to refer back to previous games, but that’s only because it’s easier to suggest something that you are familiar with and that you’ve seen work in the past. :\
The vast majority of the game is the new experience, pretty much only one playlist even resembles an older style of Halo and even then, what would having other playlists like that hurt? You can have Infinity and Traditional live side-by-side and appeal to a lot more people that way.

Ask for the Hornet back, “you just want Halo 3”.
Ask for less magnetism, “you just want Halo 3”.
Ask for ranks, “you just want Halo 3”.
Ask for more flood game options, “you just want Halo 3”.
Ask for the removal or fixing of imbalanced aspects, “you just want Halo 3”.
It’s getting ridiculous. Just because I want some features to be improved upon or some features to make a comeback doesn’t mean I want Halo 3.
I’d prefer Halo CE anyways.
Also not to get on your case but if threads comparing Halo 4 to CoD are qualified for locking, why aren’t threads like these? I don’t see any constructive discussion coming out of this, besides maybe me schooling the OP.
Its gamers like you that complain about everything! cant handle the fact that its not like other halo games?
> Its gamers like you that complain about everything! cant handle the fact that its not like other halo games?
Well, it isn’t really our fault the previous Halo games were better constructed in almost every way.
I also find it funny that when people say it isn’t competitive, team throwback comes out & they still complain. why cant they just realize that they are just bad kids?..
lmao, my Example.
> I also find it funny that when people say it isn’t competitive, team throwback comes out & they still complain. why cant they just realize that they are just bad kids?..
Halo 4 is released with no Flood gamemode.
You ask for one.
I release a Flood Playlist with no shotguns and a single map available.
You naturally complain because the playlist is lacking content.
I respond with LOL Y U STILL COMPLEN BREH, DIDN’T I GIVE U WHAT YOU WANTED?
And that is the logic your post follows.
Also it’s called Throwdown, not Throwback.
> I also find it funny that when people say it isn’t competitive
Well, with the randomness of things like Loadouts and Ordinance it sort of isn’t.
> team throwback comes out & they still complain. why cant they just realize that they are just bad kids?..
Throwback is a good start, but some better maps and settings wouldn’t hurt.
> Also not to get on your case but if threads comparing Halo 4 to CoD are qualified for locking, why aren’t threads like these? I don’t see any constructive discussion coming out of this, besides maybe me schooling the OP.
If I locked this thread, then no one would learn anything. Threads like this are opportunities to present calm, reasoned answers as to why the “You just want [X past game]” argument is flawed – not just to the OP, but to anyone else who might be reading.
As for Halo/CoD comparisons? Most of the ones I’ve seen and locked are just made to mock the game, with little to no interest in promoting a reasonable discussion.
Further inquiries about policy or rule enforcement should be made in the Halo Waypoint section.
Team Throwdown?? omg, gold star kid. anyways, im just trying to make it known that Halo 4 is its own game. its also fun to play, i cant say the same for the ones who have negative K/D. thats just no fun. haha
> Team Throwdown?? omg, gold star kid.
Okay bro, okay…
> anyways, im just trying to make it known that Halo 4 is its own game.
It could be so much more its own game if it innovated instead of borrowed. And just because it’s different than Halo 3 doesn’t mean it isn’t allowed to be similar to Halo 3. Halo 2 was similar to Halo 1. Halo Reach was similar to Halo 1 in some aspects. Halo 3 was similar to Halo 2.
You don’t need to re-invent the wheel just to be a good game. None of the originals had any issues building on each other.
> its also fun to play,
Subjective. I find it lacking because there’s little challenge to be found. I don’t even care if I have a negative K/D, I just want to be up against good opponents.
Part of that is the lack of good competitive settings in general, the other is the flawed matchmaking system that will ignore skill levels just to put you in non-laggy games faster.

So tell me what a few playlists or gametypes with more traditional settings like Halo 3’s in Halo 4 would hurt. Halo 4 as it was meant to be played would still exist, there would just be an avenue for people who don’t care for it.
You aren’t making any real arguments except different varieties of “kid” insults and the equivalent of saying “Na uh!”

you are the first person i have found who does not immediately associate those parts with cod and cod alone…your now my best friend
Just because something’s new doesn’t mean it’s good. Change isn’t automatically for the better.
> you are the first person i have found who does not immediately associate those parts with cod and cod alone…your now my best friend
Perks and Ordnances/Killstreaks are pretty exclusive to CoD.
Most of everything else though has been done by any modern FPS.
> Halo 4 is its own Game. People always be asking for the 4 shot BR’, 50 ranking system, with Halo 3 maps. These people need to stop living in the past. Halo 4 is not a bad game, its supposed to be a new experience.
Incorrect, Halo 4 is NOT it’s own game - it is a sequel in the series of “Halo” games. Because of this, whatever changes are made should be accompanied by the staples of the franchise it is adding to. Things such as a 1-50 ranking system have become a staple to Halo’s online multiplayer experience that the majority likes.
To label a game “Halo 4” is an obvious implication that it is a follow-up to Halo 3, otherwise it should be named something else such as Halo: Reclaimer. That being said, it is fair to assume that the game would take the core of Halo 3, keep what works, take out or fix what doesn’t, and finally add some new innovation. Unfortunately, what we got in terms of gameplay was Halo: Reach 2. It took from the core of Reach and built upon that, rather than the core of Halo 3. That is a completely justifiable reason for fans to be mad, especially when a huge marketing campaign was set to show that this was “The highly anticipated sequel to Halo 3” and that “Halo 4 will take the series back to it’s roots” - it’s roots being the first 3 numbered titles.
To reiterate: If Halo 4 was meant to be it’s own game and a brand new experience, then it shouldn’t have been titled Halo 4, and had a misleading marketing campaign. This game is a shining example of false advertising - Microsoft lied about the product we were buying, and instead gave us something else in the package of what we wanted. If you like Halo 4, good for you, enjoy the game; but anyone who didn’t has a right as a misled consumer to harshly criticize the game and call it out for what it really is - Halo: Reach 2 in a box that says Halo 4.
For the record, i wouldn’t care either if i was negative & an SR130. just saying.
