I’m always some level of stressed! It’s amazing I’m not grey already! But thank you for the concern, I’m doing alright and just hit 30, haha.
Skill gaps make things fun. Learning is fun.

Being able to curb slide thrust makes more sense to me than snap slide. Not postive why I feel that way, but we share different opinions and that’s okay.
Easy to learn and hard to master is why Counter Strike has gotten away with playing the same maps for 20+ years yet still has a huge fan base
.
I hope 343 ignores people who want skill gaps to shrink or not be a focus!
I guess you do make a point. I play League of Legends and there is a mechanic in the game that lets you place an item that gives vision in the fog of the map. There were definitely some key placement techniques that let you reach places you normally cant.
However, those were situational moments unlike Infinite’s snap slide which is done like… every time. So we are still agreed that snap slide is a must-go.
It can be unpredictable and dangerous if you mess up. But there were only a few options that led you to falling out the map like Live fire. But other cases would have you saved by a wall. Though in the end, its toxically unpredictable. A similar thing would be trick jumping, however has to be pretty precise maneuvering to reward you with its advantage. While snap sliding… its still pretty easy to pull off no matter if you slide far or short.
A similar mechanic like this was back in Halo 5, when you could thrust-slide-jump to practically dash across the map. Which was actually used insanely all the time. Though now 343i nerfed it do be a much shorter dash.
There are many things Halo has that gives skill gave. There are trick jumps, relying on precise landings and leaving you vulnerable. Andling a plasma grenade on a power weapon, now a medal. And back smacking a trailing enemy around a corner, which is also now the Ninja medal. Things in Halo also come as a skill gap. However, most of it is situational and conditional. With this current thread, snap-sliding is current somewhat conditional but not situational as it happens very often.
Snap slide is not the same as the drop/boost slide fyi. Snap slide is a very niche slide technique that’s pretty difficult to pull off without putting in a good amount of practice.
I’ve never seen someone use it in my matchmaking games, and even most pros don’t use it. I think Bound was the only HCS player using it very regularly, and Lucid would occasionally use it.
It just doesn’t seem like a big enough problem to take away to me, and it provides opportunities for crazy highlight reals in HCS tourneys
thats called risk vs reward. you get rewarded for the high chance you mess up. its predictable and dangerous bbecause it requires a moon jump to activate which leaves you vulnerable and theres a good chance your risky jump achievves nothing. pros still didnt even use it that much. if at all.
sounds like that thrust sllide was just too easy and rightfully got removed.
Bingo!!
100%, some mechanics are BAD for the game. But a lot are usually good.
That requires you to get the thrusters first though, which encourages map movement. It’d be the same as grabbing a grappleshot.
No one has ever done it in game so what are u talking about curve slide is and exploit bot they wont remove it cuz every one will leave this empty shell of a game so why go out of your way to remove tha hardest exploit to do as u call it and keep curv slide in … u make no scense like them …
It’s not a trick it’s a glitch/exploit. It’s an exploit that’s breaking intended gameplay flow and map design. When things like these are found they have to be patched out because it’s in multiplayer. When it’s affecting more than one person then you can’t have a massive gameplay changing exploit continue to exist. If someone can do it then it’s a problem because no matter the difficulty people are going to try to do it. The people that are able to do it are going to break the game and the people who aren’t able to do it, but keep trying anyway are going to bog their team down because they’re trying to do some exploit instead of actually playing the game the way it’s intended.
There’s a massive difference between removing the tank gun which was a glitch that people thought was fun and enjoyable in campaign and a massive exploit for player movement in multiplayer. I agree, give us things don’t take them away, but this ain’t taking it away. This is removing something that was never supposed to be there to begin with. You are not intended to jump from one side of the map to the other in multiplayer, competitive or social.
Also if this thread already exists why did you make a new one of the exact same thing like two and a half hours ago? Just as a heads up, don’t do that kind of stuff that’s breaking community guidelines because you’re spamming multiple threads about the same topic.
