The problem is, Assassins Creed has other forms of rewarding tasks to do. This game doesn’t. This argument only works when you have alternatives to do. Otherwise, you may as well say “Don’t play the game at all”. In which case, this game shouldn’t be restricted to crappy challenges.
Correct me if I’m wrong.
I don’t buy the BP’s, but if you don’t complete them you don’t get the credit do you?
Now if that’s the case your comment is completely unnecessary, and that is stating that in lighter terms. I’ll never understand players thinking they are “funny, clever”, or whatever making comments like you did (to hurrass players in hopes to trigger them) especially when you should actually be intelligent to understand what the OP is actually saying.
While I can agree that Infinite’s progression system is the worse I have ever seen, no one is forcing you to play. Which is what I have done. I play MCC way more than Infinite since it’s superior in every way IMO. They really need to make it so you can progress in any more you want to play. While LSS did grow on me and I did over all enjoy it I don’t know if I liked it enough to come back and play regularly. The majority of the cosmetics I don’t like anyways. The only cosmetics I want from it are the skull shoulder pads but then it dawned on me I have to use that ugly armor for them and can’t use them on any set I want. 343 has their work cut out for them if they think this model is good for this ten year platform or whatever.
Yeah if you don’t complete them before the end of the season, you won’t get the remaining free stuff. But you don’t need to do all (or any challenges) to achieve that. You can do 1 level of the pass in 1 day playing 7 games. Season is 6 months so even without challenges and playing an hour a day you could finish it with almost 3 months to spare.
Free players must play and complete some event challenges if they want all the free event stuff. But usually you won’t need to paly every week of an event or complete all event challenges to achieve this.
Enough of this cop out. It’s completely bad faith. You know what they mean by ‘forced’ and to pretend you don’t is just some bad faith toxicity.
How is it a cop out? Who if forcing any one to play? Not every new game mode is going to appeal to every player. If you don’t enjoy the mode don’t play it. Let those who do enjoy it play it. I don’t like tactical Slayer, I loath it in fact, so I don’t play it. I don’t complain online how I am being forced to play a mode I don’t like. Not playing LSS just means you won’t get the cosmetics associated with it. Play what you do enjoy and advocate for a better progression system that allows players to progress in any mode. What I think they should do is have sets of challenges for each individual playlist that maybe grants season points and then let players choose what they want, maybe in tiers kinda like MCC does. That way no matter what you play you can progress.
Did you not even read what I said? Like honestly. I literally said the way you are trying to use ‘force’ isn’t the way OP is using the word ‘force’. Wait… please tell me. Do you SERIOUSLY think OP is saying that 343 is sitting in his home holding him at gun point? The answer is obviously no. So… if we use our brains… what might OP be saying? So what other types of ‘force’ could he be referring to?
Maybe he is highlighting the point, that in order to continue your other challenges, you need to complete the LSS ones. Therefore, you are being coerced in to playing LSS. Otherwise you will be punished by being unable to continue your battle pass challenges at the same 4 challenge rate, until you do so.
You are purposefully being ungenerous in their using of the word ‘force’. For what reason? I don’t know. But it is dishonest, dumb, and annoying.
How about stop using the word forced then? How about simply ask for a better progression system. The OP literally says forced. So don’t try and change what they said as if it means something else. It’s funny when people are like yeah that is what I said but what I meant was… Also you can still progress without playing LSS it will just be at a slower pace and you won’t get the event cosmetics. Just do what challenges you want to do and if there isn’t any you want to do just swap them, out of swaps, then just play the mode you want until the next set of challenges come out the next week.
I agree. It’s quite a melodramatic terminology.
How about don’t be dishonest, and learn to address people for the point they are making instead of running around trying to be a word police and petti-fog the conversation? Why would he not use the word ‘force’ when that is precisely how he feels? That is what COERCION is and feels like. Force. A force being applied to you in order to persuade you to do something you don’t really want to do.
YOU don’t understand what force is. YOU are trying to pretend ‘force’ could only possibly mean he LITERALLY has no choice… when force actually means you feel under a form of coercion and compulsion. Which withholding something someone enjoys, until they do what you want, is exactly that.
No. It’s literally not. It’s a commonly used word used outside of dramatic contexts. You (and the other morons) are the only ones dramatizing it.
Because the fact is they are not being forced. Just because they feel that way doesn’t mean they are. Not all challenges/events are going to be fun or appeal to every one. Don’t enjoy it don’t play it.
Because the fact is they are being forced. Just because you feel they aren’t doesn’t mean they aren’t. Don’t like the post don’t engage with it.
People use words wrong every day.
However, at least most people are civil enough not to resort to calling others morons when they do so.
We are on a public forum where anyone can discuss their viewpoint. There are rules about conduct though.
But they aren’t… How are they forced? There are ways to advocate for changes to the progression system without victimizing yourself. And I like the post and debate that is why I post. ![]()
Yes. People use words wrong everyday. Just like you and LethalQ are misrepresenting what ‘force’ means.
Force does not mean a person had no/zero choice. You are using the word wrong. Not OP.
I already told you how they were being forced. Here, I will remove the word ‘feel’ for you since your brain can’t handle extrapolation.
YOU don’t understand what force is. YOU are trying to pretend ‘force’ could only possibly mean he LITERALLY has no choice… when force actually means you are under a form of coercion and/or compulsion. Which withholding something someone enjoys, until they do what you want, is exactly that.
You’re absolutely right.
I hate how when I go to the store I am forced to pay for groceries. I want them, but the store coerces me into paying for the items because they know I need them.
No. They don’t coerce you. Again, you are misusing words.
A more accurate example would be “I hate how when I go to the store I am forced to sign up for their bonus card, otherwise I have to pay 200% more”. THAT is a form of coercion or compelling someone to do something.
I have to exchange money either way, why would they force me to do this?
You do realise that something that’s optional and being forced to do something aren’t the same thing, right?
