Stop forcing us to play modes we dont like. Even more so with modes like LSS

I always feel like making this joke.
Realistically it is no different to some collectibles in a game. No-one is forcing you to do it, but if you do you’ll get a little reward at the end. You aren’t entitled to the reward without doing what’s required of the game.
Don’t waste your time doing things you don’t enjoy kids. If you don’t want to collect 100 flags on Assassin’s Creed, then don’t.

Play what you want to play. Last Spartan Standing is a new game mode that 343i needs data on and will hopefully make positive changes in the future to the game type. I understand that it may be for challenges and things like that, but at the end of the day play what you enjoy playing when it comes to Halo in general.

Huge agree here, tired of seeing these kinds of challenges, every time I run into something like this I find myself just starting up a different game. Tired of grinding for random cosmetics, playing game modes I don’t care for.

The obvious point OP is trying to make is forcing missable cosmetics on a mode that some people can’t stand.

Yeah the clear and obvious disconnect some of these people are making is illogical. Clearly they’re not forcing you, but if you want timegated loot thats some of the only earnable and non-paid items in the game… the yeah., they’re indeed pressuring players to perform under a limited time frame. It would be different if there were no time-limit.

The only gun to your head is the weekly reward.
The BP itself isn’t loaded. You have six months to do that one.
And the event rewards? You have 2 weeks. That’s a mere 5 challenges a week. You don’t need to burn yourself out.

The problem isn’t the time scale,
Its how much nonsense some the challenges are,
And how their presented, (That you are only allowed 3-4 active challanges and new ones will only appear after old ones are cleared.)
It would be one thing if they were simple as “play 10 game of LSS”,
But you can get challenges for assassinations,
or 25 head shots, or Cumulative scores.
And it feels like… you need to work, the game stops being fun, because the challenges for you to play sub optimally so no other reason than a tiny reward.
There is also the issue that pretty large parts of the community didn’t want this stupid game mode.
People wanted Infection, and Griffball, and other Fun Casual modes. And not this disgustingly sweaty Meta fest where Not coming in First feels awful, like the game is wasting your time.
Having an event that effectively completely blocks you off from what little content the game already has,
Because the game mode tied to it divides the community, is really… reeaaaally awful game design.
Battle Royals style games arn’t for everyone,
And to punish your player base that doesn’t like them, by withholding dripfed content,
It really really scumbag design.

LSS isnt that bad of a mode, some of the challenges may be a bit off but they can all be done fairly easily. and i dont even want to hear “i cant get back smacks” …dude, they give you tons of active camos, not to mention there is no radar…not to mention they are called challenges?

I don’t have a problem with that. If you could clear them all simultaneously they would have to add more to fill in the time span.
I think the key part of this sentence is the tiny reward.
Unless it’s something you really want there is absolutely no reason to put yourself through hell if you don’t like the playlist.
Most of the time it will be something you like. And that’s great. Grind the Hell out of it. But if it’s a game type you don’t. Just don’t.
But if you do go for it. Be sensible. Pace yourself over the weeks of the event. Group the challenges together so that you can tick them over with fewer games. Take breaks and try and do one a day - as opposed to grinding them out in one long painful session.
Each to their own. I’ve never been a great aficionado of Infection. It’s just a bunch of people camping in glitchy dead end areas of the map. And Grifball is nothing but K/D plumpers.
I would go as far to say the “sweaty meta fest” is just how you are feeling because you don’t like the game mode. Same with the feeling awful and wasting your time if you don’t win.
You obviously don’t like it. Don’t do it.

But what have you actually lost out on - a stance that you aren’t going to use?
They aren’t. The important bit is to have some self awareness and don’t do this to yourself.
There will be events you love. Go for them. Some you’ll tolerate - let things evolve. But for the one’s you hate? It’s just silly to choose that hill to burn out on.

I mean the thing I hate about it is that in some cases I couldn’t ignore it. If I want to do challenges but I’m stuck with a bunch of LSS, I have to interact with LSS to clear the board.
No one has a gun to my head, but that’s not the point. The point is that in order to be interacting with the game in a way I want to, I have to wait until the event is over, or I have to play LSS to clear space.
And this wouldn’t be a problem if event challenges had its own tab. That’s all they need to do to fix it so if you wanna play your own challenges or participate in the event, you can do it without overlapping the two.
All this does is fake engagement. That people somehow like this crap when really I’m clearing the board.
