Stop defending this game

It has 24,000 people on right now. ONLY 24,000!!!

http://halocharts.com/2012/chart/dailypeakpopulation/all

ON THE ENTIRE GAME

Halo 3 social slayer would have a solid 40,000 (probably more) on social slayer alone at 1:30 in the morning 5 months after that game came out.

Honestly it just continues to perplex me as to how you guys can even defend this game, or even play it for that matter. You can blame it on changing demographics all you want, or you can blame the real culprit.

It’s your choice!

“Game has to change to attract new players, otherwise the population will be low.”
“Population doesn’t matter, stop using it as an argument.”

There you go gentlemen, the ultimate Inb4.

And now I’m out.

More like the ultimate fanboy, have fun playing this immensely exciting and ground-breaking game that came up with so many cool new FPS ideas that is experiencing massive online success with both new and old crowds alike.

Lolwut.

First of all I was quoting other people and displaying how contradictory their arguments are and what they will inevitably post in this thread.

Second, I’m not by any means a fanboy. Apparently I’m not infamous enough yet. Working on it.

Third, pretty rash.

But he already said he’s out.

Insanity, you really live up to your name.

calm down, he’s on your side.

Damn. Ninja’ed by Ramirez. oops lol, oh well. I was about to point out he was making a reference to how some respond to threads like these. The lines he posted are usually the ones that get tossed around the most.

Also, it was most likely meant as a quick fyi so you knew what to expect. Although the off the deep end response will probably mean the thread gets locked anyways.

I play it…because I like it…

why the **** would I play a game I think is bad? It’s like me playing Reach fter I talked so much yoink about it. I would never do that, maybe you and others play Halo 4 even though you think it’s bad but I play cause I enjoy it, simple as that.

Weird, it seems the population seems to drop the later it gets in the day. Dude quit complaining and go play a different game already. The game is what it is and no major changes can or will be made. We have enough complainers already.

I enjoy Halo 4.

Looking forward to get another year of Xbox Live soon to play it again.

And, honestly, the demographics are unimportant, especially with the amount of games today.

Nevermind, I just can’t ignore this thread.

Quitting the game for other games doesn’t solve anything, it just causes the population to shrink more, further proving his point that many people are leaving because the game is below the bar.

Also those are peak populations for the entire day, not just “late in the day”.

What the chart means is, the game hit 24,000 players on its highest point throughout that entire day. The hour is irrelevant, as any other hour would have had less players playing regardless because none of those hours are the peak.

> And, honestly, the demographics are unimportant, especially with the amount of games today.

If Population doesn’t matter, and Demographics don’t matter, then what reason is there that Halo 4 can’t be an arena shooter?

Your own argument works against you.

People use the population argument as a lame excuse of “why this game sucks”. Seriously, that’s his only argument: “ONLY 24,000 PLAYERS?!? OMG!!! HALO 3 HAD LIKE A BILLION GUYS PLAYING EVERY DAY!!!”.

You guys are ignoring many factors. There are more games to play online, the PS3 finally got some decent games, back in 2007 there was literally no reason to own that console. For today standards, that’s actually a pretty solid number.

If your argument is going to depend exclusively on the Halo 4 population, I can’t help but feel sorry for you.

Here, have a sad face :frowning:

> People use the population argument as a lame excuse of “why this game sucks”. Seriously, that’s his only argument: “ONLY 24,000 PLAYERS?!? OMG!!! HALO 3 HAD LIKE A BILLION GUYS PLAYING EVERY DAY!!!”.

People also use it as a justification for changes to the game. They say the game won’t be popular unless it changes, but then they turn around and say population doesn’t matter. They use hypocritical and contradictory arguments.

The defenders are just as guilty of this as the “haters” are. They use population arguments to push their own agenda as well, except they ignore population when it doesn’t favor their argument.

> You guys are ignoring many factors. There are more games to play online, the PS3 finally got some decent games, back in 2007 there was literally no reason to own that console. For today standards, that’s actually a pretty solid number.

The most popular franchises now are basically the same as the most popular franchises in 2007 (CoD, Halo, Battlefield, Gears). Just saying.

Who gives an honest -Yoink- about population? I play the game because I enjoy playing it, I don’t care who else plays it. Look at Bulletstorm. That game has a population of what, 2? I still play it because I enjoy it. If you don’t enjoy playing Halo 4, then just don’t. Simple as that.

Stop hating on Halo 4 OP.

If you want to present pointless arguments and say that you’re “leaving Halo” then leave while keeping your mouth shut.

No one wants to hear ignorance on a forum that should be used to help 343i in the Halo universe. Not whine and complain about every little thing that ticks you off.

If population of a game ticks you off then you need some serious help.

Quick Someone make Halo 5! Might as well.

People said stop defending Reach, when it had populations of 9,000.
Do you think that stopped me? Halo 4 has 24,000, and yes they realize their mistakes, but as far as im concerned this game gets better and better, and seems like you cant give it a chance.
This game has been out only since November, when Reach made a comeback they soared to 100,000 a day. Oh why so fond of the classics? I have so much nostalgia coming from the games, but using them as “oh Halo 4 is dumb #stupidyoinknotplayingit” is really an insult. You have no respect for 343 who BUSTED THEIR BACKSto give us this game. They havent been making this game for 10 years, we’re all well aware of the fact they need to grasp the concept more. Oh, and they listen to their community, becasue theats what a GOOD company does. There is a healthier way to resolve all the issues, and just look at the impact we had on the game already.

-Haven wall glitches reported, fixed the next week
-boltshot nerfed
-playlists changes, e.g team snipers w/ shotty snipes and grifball
-fixed many menu glitches that messed with loadouts
-gave us awesome dlc that wasn’t run of the mill “here ya go moar maps” but something that had to do with the story, something new, and something fun
-Spartan Ops became more meaningful and less laggy

So will i defend this game? Yeah, I think I will. Thanks.

The changes are necessary in order for the franchise to feel fresh. Of course we want new people to play with, if the game remained the same, it would feel stale and the population would decrease. 343i was aiming for casual players, as the formula works pretty well on COD, can’t say I’d blame them for that, video games are a business after all.

What makes the haters so amusing is their hypocrisy. I can assure you that 90% of the persons who hated this game will buy Halo 5 on it’s release date, probably the most expensive edition. They have zero credibility.

But that was not the argument, it was about the demographics, which you totally ignored. Why is no one taking into account the amount of video games that have been released over the years? The fact that Sony finally did something right with their PS3, the fact that Nintendo won most of the market, etc? Is the world stuck in 2007?

It seems as though you held that in for quite a lengthy time.

Demographics directly tie into population. Demographics are just want the majority of gamers want to play.

I’ve provided some minor evidence of how demographics are similar to what they were in 2007. CoD is still popular. Battlefield is still popular. Halo might still be popular if it was still Halo (yes you have every right to be mad at me for that statement but you should know what I mean by it).

> Oh, and they listen to their community, becasue theats what a GOOD company does

They need to work on their comprehension somewhat. “Give us Action Sack, FFA, and BTB Objective” doesn’t mean “give us an Extraction playlist, leave the others alone”.

> The changes are necessary in order for the franchise to feel fresh

That is entirely your opinion, not fact, and I’ve been playing CoD since 2007 and I’ve touched other modern games, nothing feels fresh to me.
