Region lock = games take long periods of time to find, and most of the time you can’t find games at all
No region lock = laggy games where the American players have the advantage
As you can see, everyone can’t be satisfied at once.
the problem here is that the game is simply more popular in America VS everywhere else.
Region lock? Can’t find games? The majority of us could, Especially in the EU. The majority of us are being punished with laggy matches because the minority moaned after they implemented region lock.
I’d rather have decent games where I have a few minutes in between to sip my tea and nibble my crumpet!
And who cares if the game is more popular in America, if they don’t start treating all of their fan with a little decency, the game will only be popular in America.

stop saying nonsense. We’ve been 10 years playing Halo and had never worked so badly.
And if it is a game for Americans, the next time you sell only in America.

Agree with you. If MS/343i marketed and sold the game internationally, then they should honor their commitments to international players. This focus on the US is detrimental to the international Halo community and will accelerate the franchise’s downward trajectory.

You know what makes me laugh there is a potential for a bigger gaming market in the EU alone but they just don’t appeal enough to EU players.
Why couldn’t we have selectable servers? I seem remember somewhere that someone said that we could select our servers in Halo 5. Could be my faulty memory.
But nevertheless, server selection would have gotten rid of the need for Region Lock. Without Region Lock, I’m forced to play with the laggy Limeys and the other European people, as well as the Laggy Down Unders.

I can promise you, Americans do not get the advantage when region lock is gone. Everytime I play anyone from the oceanic servers, I teleport into everywall on the damn map. It’s unplayable at times.

We are getting matchmaking preference options in the update for memories of reach or the one after i imagine so. And insulting foreign people is that what you have devolved to?. This coming from a nation which is almost divided on every single issue. Has around 11k deaths a year from guns alone hell that’s war material that is. Look in a mirror before you go insulting other countries. Bunch of savages.

The USA and Canada combined have a population of about 350 Million.
The UK alone has 65 Million! Thats about 20%, dispite being only 2% of the size!

Region lock is a no win situation for them. When they have it on there are players in some region that can’t find games then when they turn it off they can find games but then others experience lag.

rather lag than not play?, why would anyone choose to play a crap connection. I had plenty games out of Denmark with region lock. Now I’m lucky t get 2 decent games a day. Rest is garbage.

The Australians do have a right to quality matches. They also paid for the game. The extra lag isn’t even that big of an issue in America.
P.S. I think we need a server browser system or something.

“minority”
Except all the high MMR players struggled constantly…
And anyone in onyx and up on FFA struggled…
Region lock was killing the game for me, and others in the EU.
Besides, there were hardly any people who asked for it to start with

I am, which grants be the power to make fun of myself.
The Queen was 90 yesterday! I baked her a cake, we ate it after our fish ‘n’ chips while discussing region lock.
If you read the recent community update it stated that the memories of reach update will have “MATCHMAKING PREFERENCES”
Meaning technically we can know disable or enable region lock however we want
