Exactly. Or maybe by cutting prices in half and then selling twice as many because the prices arent insane like 20$ for armor lmao. Even 10$ is a bit much, but its wayyyy better than 20$. Imagine expecting us to pay 1050$ for all of the shop armor lol…
Does this dude really think the store and macrotransactions were designed to feed poor game devs?
No, this thread should be locked because it is unproductive and promotes meaningless arguing. The OP is, in fact, telling people to stop complaining. That sounds a lot like an attempt to censor to me, I’m glad you and I agree that that is wrong. Telling people to stop providing feedback is not beneficial to 343 or the community or Halo or anybody. So let’s stay focused on the productive threads.
OP says to stop complaining as if he wouldn’t immediately take advantage of lower prices if the complaining convinced 343 to lower them.
I would happily spend $80 on Infinite if that meant that the challenge progression wasn’t broken and the vast majority of cosmetics could be earned without spending another dime.
It isn’t complaining that players HAVE to pay for cosmetics, it is the price they are mandating players pay for cosmetics.
Halo Infinite (campaign) is going to run about $60 USD. A cosmetic armor set in the shop costs $20 USD. A single set of armor is costing 1/3rd the cost of a full-fledged fleshed out game. THAT is a huge problem. And it is a problem across the board with all games that do this kind of micro-transaction business model. The gaming community as a whole is getting tired of having games be “released” and then 90% of the cosmetics locked behind paywalls, and not small paywalls either. If you buy everything in the shop each week, it is going to run you roughly $60 per week, essentially, the full campaign. This is a hugely flawed design and hopefully 343 will take appropriate corrective action to reduce it to a more reasonable level. Everyone deserves to get paid for their work, I agree. At the same time, you don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
so your say gin to cut the revenue that worked need to pay for house, water, food, clothing, margate, electrcuy, and clothing cause you think their greedy boy you dont THINK do you?
This man is doing cartwheels for 343
Apparently we’re spoiled because we don’t want to pay $15 for the colour blue…which only goes on ONE armour core and TWO vehicles.
Nah man. Your post is useless. Thread should be locked because your post contributes nothing to the discussion. And frankly, it’s an awful take.
We had Halo Reach and Halo 5 with hundreds of unlockable cosmetics - all free - that could be mixed and matched however you like. We didn’t have a restrictive armour core system and we didn’t have to unlock colours or weapon skins by buying them, they were attainable by playing the game.
No one asked for the game to be free to play, people were more than happy to pay full price for this game as they always have with Halo. 343i felt their customers would respond to this pricing model but they got it 100% wrong. No one wants to pay $70 to unlock 2 armour sets, 2 weapon skins and a couple emblems.
Even media sites like IGN are getting on their back over this ridiculous approach.
The people who “complain” are the reason this game got delayed and Joseph Staten came in to save it. They’re a driving force as to why we’re getting a much better game.
no they shouldnt. Games have risen in price since their inception. PS1 games brand new were $40
then why does the game still suck?
This is the stupidest post I’ve seen. Have you ever played the past games? This -Yoink!- is not right with how they monetized it.
Because 343i are a mediocre developer. They’ve had 6 years to make this game, handling Microsoft’s premier first party franchise, and they only got the game in a half decent state this year.
It’s absolutely insane to me that Bungie made Halo 2 and Halo 3 in about 2.5 years each, whilst 343i with double the resources and over double the time can’t even get basic features and systems out the door at launch.
Here’s the thing I’m seeing people with OP’s stand point aren’t grasping: people saying something is overpriced and/or manipulative isn’t the same as saying “give it to us for free”. People aren’t saying don’t monetize the game, they’re saying do it in a way that feels fair and worthwhile for those who buy the items.
Its the fact you don’t get any credits at all by paying for 100 dollars. Bet you like wasting money… little boy do you even work for your money
This man like to waste money and give it all to 343 and Microsoft for very little because he is a 30 years old man still living with his parents and money isn’t a issue.
If there was a way to work for everything that let people who can put the time in but not the money, that would probably change a lot of people’s views. If only slightly. But as others have said, this is mostly shock response because customization has largely been free in terms of armor pieces since Halo 3. Halo 4 and 5 of course had their ‘buy the game or bundle from (x) and get this exclusive item!’ and that was fine, it didn’t lock like 60% or more of the cosmetics behind a paywall.
Just because it’s become the norm to give us bare bones and then charge our first born child for a small portion of the items, doesn’t mean we should accept it in a title that has largely been free to customize your character as you see fit.
Lets get this straight. Microtransactions we all knew would be in this game. Its free to play so now we have established this let’s talk about another game. COD It charges full price for the game, It has a time-limited battle pass and predatory MTX on its store.
Halo has no time limit on its battle pass so it’s a win there. However, the amount they are charging for items is extortionate. And Not only that they are locking armor components behind a paywall which is abhorrent. Sellings skins and emblems are one thing but to do this with the components well that’s a bridge too far.
Now let’s talk about something which compounds this issue. 343 decided to Merge normal progression into Battle pass progression, Armor pieces should be unlocked through a normal levelling/credit earned situation done through participating in matches. The same goes for the battle pass like MCC this is how it should be. This new event for example it’s beyond ridiculous that they are spreading it out unlocking it. Also, the Noble team armor components locked behind paywalls are 343 trying to aggravate the fans.
TDLR the Mtx in this game are some of the worst I’ve seen yet.

You don’t get to tell me what to do. Go be dumb elsewhere.
Yes, $15 for the Colour Red is totally okay to not complain about, Simpletons like you should not even be allowed an opinion
