This thread is for all the people comparing Halo 4 to COD. Have any of you ever tried playing a couple of MM games of Halo 4 then played a couple of games of COD? I have, the 2 games play COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.COD feels more like a rushed and recycled piece of -Yoink-. Halo 4 feels much more polished, strategic, balanced, and an overall good game. Just because 343 took a couple of ideas from the COD series and put them in Halo 4 doesn’t mean its turned into Call of Halo: Futuristic Warfare 4. Loadouts for example, in COD you can spawn with shotguns, rocket launchers, 1 shot kill weapons that make the game very unbalanced. In Halo 4 you’re only given the option to spawn with FAIR AND BALANCED weapons like the DMR and BR, no scattershots, no rocket launchers, no power weapons. Another example would be ordinance drops/killstreaks, killstreaks are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, Attack Dogs that can be called in mid game and get a ton of kills, a nuclear bomb that kills all enemy players and automatically wins you the game, napalm strikes, attack helicopters, and many many more. Ordinance drops on the other hand much more BALANCED , the player is rewarded for doing good in a game. The reward is a power weapon, power up, or grenade. So I’m being dead serious when I say this, try playing a couple of games of Modern Warfare 3 then a couple of games of Halo 4 then come back and tell me how these 2 games are similar.
Well considering Frank admitted to making it more like CoD to steal some of CoDs fan base, yes Halo 4 is similar to CoD.
> The FPS genre has evolved quite significantly since the release of Halo 3 in 2007. Have games like Call of Duty had an influence on your project?

> Certainly, and we’ve hired people from Treyarch and Infinity Ward, and so those people are bringing some of their habits to the game.

> But we haven’t tried to chase that tail. Those games are good for specific reasons, and Halo is good for a different set of specific reasons. I think the closest we’ve come to that conversation about Call of Duty, is that we wanted to have an amazing player progression experience that wasn’t just aesthetics.

Proof or leave this forum for eternity
Its not so much that they are similar, its that Halo 4 took some elements directly from CoD. Killstreaks, killcams, armor mods(perks) and shamelessly even changed the scoring to CoD style.
Yes all these elements can be found in other shooter but do a little digging and you can find comments from frankie about the things that CoD does well. They mainstreamed this game because 343 is a business. and mainstream is more $$$. they dont care about what Halo has been for a decade.

GOD -Yoink!- PEOPLE. STOP BEING IN DENIAL.
I swear this is 2008 all over again. People will start realizing things when -Yoink-'s way too deep in just like in the recession. Halo is plain and simple NOT Halo anymore. I could tolerate the fact that Reach was different because after all it was Halo REACH not an addition to the core series. But to continue expanding Halo 4 where REACH left of was the BIGGEST mistake in the gaming industry that I have witnessed.

lmfao… your an idiot… Not once did he say steal from cod lol.
Yes I can see that they’ve made Halo more accessible in the past couple of years to appeal to a larger audience but I’m tired of people keep complaining about it. Why don’t thy stop begging for Halo 3 back and just go play it? Last time I checked its servers are still up and running and still has a decent amount of players.

Halo 4 stole from COD. It’s a fact people have accepted.

Because he’s a sellout to Microsoft who owns Halo.

that’s different from what you were saying… You said he admitted they were trying to steal cod players from cod and that he admitted that halo 4 was like cod… Nowhere in his lines did he say that was there goal.
For fun I made a list a few years back, about the main gameplay differences between Halo 3 and CoD. Accounted for as many variables and style choices as I could think of.
When H4 was released, I went back and looked at the list. The differences were nearly cut in half.
I understand that if you just look at the surface, it doesn’t seem that bad, but you clearly aren’t looking deeper, especially when you put “in COD you can spawn with shotguns, rocket launchers, 1 shot kill weapons that make the game very unbalanced”

I apologize for overestimating your ability to connect the dots.
You need to ask yourself some questions.
Why did he add a LOT of CoD features to Halo?
Why did he hire employees from both Infinity Ward and Treyarch?
Oh it’s probably because he wants to keep the kids from CoD away as far as possible right? Oh and he probably hates CoD too huh?

One word: Boltshot.
You mean Call of Halo 4: Combat Devolved?
