Almost every match I play has a lag switcher. Sometimes on my team, sometimes on the other. The worst offenders lag switch and armor lock lol. Why is there so much lag switching in halo reach? The ranks don’t matter, the credits you get for a win are minuscule. It just makes the game unstable and less fun to play for everyone. Many times the lag switching doesn’t even help a team win. I just don’t see the point. Also if you want to feel like you are good at the game, it doesn’t help that because you know that you are cheating. Can anyone explain it to me? Also if you do lag switch or otherwise cheat in matchmaking can you please just stop?
To be honest I never noticed lag switching when I started to play reach on this account. Maybe you are unlucky and the host and bad connection (ping spikes)?
well when the ping is constantly shifting from green to red any time a particular person starts to get low shields, it’s pretty easy to see. Also when a few players start teleporting around only when convenient for them. It’s pretty rampant, some are good at hiding it though.

thats not cheaty at all…
I got soo pissed one time. It was the first time I played Big Team Battle in a long long time since I mostly play SWAT. I had a weekly challenge to get like 500pvp kills. We were on the Spire map and there was a guy on my team who was literally flying around the map with a sniper rifle with unlimited ammo that was just shooting wildly in all directions and was just getting instant head-shots on the entire enemy team. He even put target markers on the other team so we could see where they were no matter where they went. By the end of the match, I only got like 2-3 kills and that one -Yoink- had like almost 90 kills. He was just like “Good luck with reporting me cause nothing will happen if you do.”

Yup and that’s just one of the obvious cheaters. Others try to hide it a bit more… I have also been in a match with someone flying.

I can’t stand it, and it was not like the guy needed all those kills since he was maxed rank…though seeing if he played like that, I highly doubt he got that high legitly. I can’t stand cheaters in general, no matter who’s team they are on. Even if they are on my own team…it’s like…really? You can’t play the game fair? You are literally ruining it for everyone…even your own team since they need kills too and you are just stealing them all with your hacks/cheats.

Kind of like you’re about to kill a lag switcher, the game black screens for a couple of seconds, you come back and are frozen for a couple of seconds, then he kills you instead, the respawn screen locks up and you are in it for five minutes where it says ‘Respawn in 0’. You come back, things are moving unnaturally, your shields go out from nothing, you fall over dead, and get stuck in respawn for several more minutes, then the game ends and the lag switcher has 99% of his teams kills (Where his teammates have three, maybe four kills combined, and he has 46-47) and it’s obvious what he did.
Yeah, that nonsense, I know your pain. Wasn’t very common in Reach for my experience, though I had a couple of games like that. It happened to me an awful lot in Halo 3. File a report against the lagswitcher whenever you come across this and it is obvious, and cheating being the reason.

yup that was a really obvious cheater you ran into there.
I don’t blame you all for being mad that would annoy me as well what’s the point of playing if you don’t wanna get better and that takes time to get skilled I know I would feel better getting the skills the right way instead of cheating

agreed
Well first match after not playing for a day or two consisted of a team of 3 lag switchers
Game two of the night started out well enough. The match seemed fairly even. By the middle of the match both teams started having everyone use armor lock. Then towards the end of the match the lag switching started. I couldn’t tell who was doing it, seemed like both teams started using it. Pump needles into someone and then they disappeared. Then an enemy team member sworded one of mine who then teleported behind the sword wielder and punched. The match started out great, but devolved into cheater heaven. WTF EVERYONE SERIOUSLY STOP! This game is great, has wonderful hit detection. The matches are usually really fair. The game is fun. Why ruin the whole experience?
Game 3 played fairly normally. A little lag here and there, but I noticed the connection bars fluctuating a lot. Might have been genuine lag, but I doubt it. I guess someone on my team was doing it this time.
I spent a rather dispiriting morning playing in games that reminded me of some 80’s nightmare pop video. Some faux, bad digital rewind as the opposition hit their monkey button and were invariably still defeated. The quality of the matchmaking is pretty hit and miss these days and somewhat frustrating to say the least. The BTB has ceased to be a source of laughs and good fun.

At least you know how to play like a real gamer. Sadly, it’s the truth. When you do report a person on Xbox, sometimes it rarely works.

If I can tell who it is, or if it is a team I both report and give an avoid review.

Same.
I have never meet a lag switcher in Multiplayer. I only see them in custom games.

Just you wait. They will find you, and lag you out of the match.
